View Full Version : Inner Waistband holsters for PM9 - your choice?
In addition to night sights, I aks would like to find a great inner waistband holster for a PM9... so I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts and opinions on various IWB holsters for the PM9... thanks much!
I know many will disagree with this however I use IWB carry most of
the time and the only thing that works for me in comfort is the cloth
type(uncle mikes)I tried expensive leather but always end up with
the $9, cheapo.
I have a cheap uncle mikes that I use all the time. Mostly for my 38 but I put my 45 in it when I don't have belt loops.
Most of the time I use a UCR. Great comfort, great concealment, and they make it for the Kahr

I have a DeSantis Tuck-This! (http://www.desantisholster.com/n91.html) that I'm planning to use with my PM9. I just finished the 200 round break-in last night and need to test my planned carry ammo (Corbon PowRBall) before I carry.
IMAS... that UCR is lookin' pretty good!

It is really comfortable. I have it for my 1911. None of my holsters allowed me to carry at 3 or 4. I had a real bad problem with printing.
But that UCR sets it just right and I don't have any trouble concealing at 3 or 4. I am very happy with it.
I will probably buy one for the Kahr pretty soon.

I would suggest the Comp-tac C-Tac holster. You can tuck a shirt in, adjust the cant and it's pretty comfortable. The only problem I have is that I keep breaking the clips. The new clips are suppose to be more durable.
Another vote for the C-Tac. I'm wearing it right now, in fact. Very comfortable (for a holster) and the little PM9 pretty much disappears in it.
In addition to that, I got wicked fast and friendly service from comp-tac. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I ordered a HighNoon "Mister Softy" the other day. I have heard good things about them. Also got a ship notification from HighNoon the day after I ordered it so service seems great. I will report on it when I get it!
I'm sure the C-Tac would be a great choice. I have one for my G-27 and love it! However I wanted to try something different. I may end up getting the C-Tac in the end.
As for the UCR I was going to order one but I have some reservations. First I have seen alot of people say their order has taken several weeks, and they don't return phone calls or emails. (Both Custom Glock Racing and Threat Soultions) Also have seen some posts on the UCR breaking. Then the same thing no return calls or emails for a replacement. Even though I'm SURE this is a great holster if the customer service sucks then that is enough to keep me from buying one. I had an issue with a clip on my C-Tac breaking (I broke it and told them I did). I called Comp-Tac and they sent me a new one FREE OF CHARGE in 3 days! This was several months after my initial purchase.
What size of the Uncle Mikes holster are you guys using?
HERE (http://highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/_Mr_Softy/_mr_softy.html) is a link to the Mr Softy holster.
I use a Don Hume IWB for the Kahr Mk 9 but the best IWB I've ever had is the Covert Carry for my 340SC from Wild Bill's:

Right now I'm using a Threat Solutions UCR, it works great. I also just ordered a Milt Sparks Watch Six for my PM9 and one for my K40.
I also use Don Hume IWB for the PM9 but I love my Kramer pocket holster for my snubby!

Service IS great with that company.
Depending on how backed up they are, deliverly times vary, but they take good care of their customers.

Awesome replies guys... thanks so much. This is going to be a difficult decision! It's nice we have so many good choices.
Colorado Fatboy.... I do understand! Sign me: Washington State RKCustom & Lowrider.
One of the main reasons I wanted a PM9 was to carry in the pocket of my leather riding coat... I tried it once with a Compact 1911 and found the thumb safety got swept off sometime during my ride... no more will I do that! The PM9 is the perfect solution, either in the jacket pocket or in an IWB. ;a
I'm going to say the Mister Softy as well. Its light, small and thin. Works well for me.

Right on brother! RIDE SAFE!
I use the Fist K1 - it comes with every type of fastening option you could dream of, and it's made from a very thin Kydex, so it hides very nicely.

Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 is a great IWB holster. Alessi's Talon Plus is really nice particularly if you like the ability to easily remove your firearm with the holster like before going into a no carry area.

I have an Alessi Talon Plus Clip IWB. Excellent fit, clip works well for fast release from IWB, yet holds PM9 very well.

I'm also thinking seriously about ordering a "Mr. Softy" for my new PM9. I'm anxiously waiting for your review. If it works out well, I may order one for my CZ RAMI.
I just checked out the mr softy on highnoon's website. It looks very much like a DeSantis Insider that I have and love. It has that thin material and sits very low in the pants.

I have to 2nd the FIST kydex as well... I just can't see buying one of the thinnest handguns (Kahr) available & then wrapping in it thick leather or kydex. I've seen some holsters that add up to 3/8 of an inch or more to the overall width!
Find what FIST you want at www.fist-inc.com & then order it through www.gunnersalley.com for a savings.

I'm partial to Blade-tech IWB holsters, and have about a dozen of them in various flavors. I have one on order now for a PM9. www.blade-tech.com
best regards
One of the things I like about the FIST K1 is that it is available with every attachment option known to man.
Though to tell the truth, I don't use any of them.
I do a TJM-style carry, with all of the attachment options removed, using a stick-on velcro.

I agree with the earlier poster: An Uncle Mike's made for 2" J frame S&Ws will fit the MKs and PMs perfectly with negligible added bulk and adequate retention.
Wear it for a couple days and it will mold to the gun.
The Alessi Talon Nyclip is the best of the leather breed.
