Sorry for the rant but it just pisses me off when companies have such poor customer service.
As posted before my brand new Kahr PM9 broke a mag catch after the first full mag was shot through it. So I call Kahr on monday and they say "yeah we had some bad ones we'll send one right out". Well, here it is 5 days later and I still have no mag catch. I called yesterday just to make sure it was sent out. Couldn't get anybody to answer the phone so I Left a message, early enough that I should have gotten a call back.
I don't think I'm being unreasonable. Even if they didn't send it out monday I should have gotten it today. I get stuff from the east coast all the time in 3 days. Besides that when somebody spends that kind of money they should have been right on it and sent me one overnight.
Reading different posts on this and other forums I came across the name of a person at Kahr, Dottie Herold. People say she does what she says and returns calls and such. I already left her a message and will hold my breath that she will call me monday morning and resolve my problem.
I just needed to vent a little! Now I feel better!;f

I am currently waiting on a Kahr PM9 mag catch/release and spoke to Frank Harris last wednesday. It should arrive early this coming week.

Frank and Dottie did good by me with a P9 I had to send back without firing a shot.
My pistol had a double trigger reset, the first of which did not allow the striker to fall.
They did a bunch of trigger work, paid shipping and insurance both ways and cut me a check for $15 for my trouble.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. Hopefully Dottie will take care of me as well as she has all of you. Like I said I left a voice-mail for her today. I'm hoping she will call me 1st AM monday. I'm sure it will be resolved soon. Just disappointed that I can't be out shooting my new toy!

I spoke with Dottie this morning, she promptly returned my call. I explained my situation and, some of my concerns with the slide stop being sharp. She said no worries, I will send another one of those too. She apologized and said she would personally send out the mag catch and slide stop today Fed Ex overnight. I didn't even have to ask her for the overnight. Do you think this lady knows how to treat and take care of a customer? I have no doubts it will arrive tomorrow.
As for that other person I dealt with on my initial call, his name was Steffen. He told me he would send a new mag catch out and I'd have it by the end of last week. As of today it has not arrived, one full week later! And I have not gotten a call back from him, I left a message for him to call me. That was around noon on Friday. That is PISS POOR customer service by somebody that obviously doesn't care about their customers very much!
I will be sending a letter to the upper management and explaining this to them. Does anybody have any contact info by chance? I checked their web-site and didn't see anything.
Bottom line if you need anything from Kahr I would call Dottie Herold at 508-795-3919 ext. 331 Otherwise you could be waiting for a long time with no results.

The "upper management contact" is Frank Harris... best way to reach him is by FAX - the fax number is on their website. Good Luck.

I received the mag release on Monday from Kahr after talking with Frank last Wednesday. There were no instructions in the small package but I figured out how to unhook the mag release with a borrowed dental scaler from a retired dentist neighbor.
The new part slipped in just fine and the release has a better feel and 'catch' to it than the original part. Frank told me there was a 'design change' and the part was modified and upgraded.
Both times that I called Kahr, they were gracious and got out the part to me in no time. So far, good company.

I also ordered my updated magazine release last week. I haven't received it yet...maybe today.
I've had pretty good luck dealing with Kahr customer service when I've had questions and/or ordered parts.

As promised by Dottie I received my Fed Ex package this morning. So all is well.
I'm going to start a new thread on my range report.
When I called Kahr last week and ordered my replacement magazine release, I was told that I should have it by Friday 6/18. As of late afternoon 6/23, I still don't have it. I just sent both Frank Harris and Dottie Harold e-mails. I will followup with a phone call tomorrow.
It's not really a big deal...it's just that I wish people would follow through and DO what they SAY they're going to do. That's what's so aggravating. :(
Catbird, I'm now retired however I spend over 40 years working in civilian/government jobs although our abilities to communicate increased with cell phones, email, fax,in my last 6-8 years at work
I noticed a huge decrease in new people willness to communicate or
trying to avoid answering email at all, is it being lazy, overwhelmed, I don't know but in many offices/companies now I find
it much worse then say even 20 years ago and this problem does cause
anger and above all hurts business.

Oldguy is right, he normally is - experience has a lot to do with identifying the right and wrong. Like most of you I read and post on most of the gun forum boards, and continue to learn that we get back what we put into it… good and/or bad. These forum boards are a wonderful medium to tell the business world, as well as politicians, how to behave toward their customers or constituents. I've seen it time and again - businesses have opened their doors to law abiding, permitted gun-carrying customers, because of the bad publicity they received with their signs at the doors saying "No guns Permitted in these Premises". These gun forum boards have also caused politicians to do an "about-face" when their anti-gun policies are challenged by thousands of forum-board motivated gun owners. So, lets use these forum boards in a positive-but-nice way to let those we deal with that we prefer good service, else they lose our business.

Yep, I know the feeling. I still have not received that original mag catch shipment that I was supposed to have at the end of last week! That tells me it was never shipped. You need to call Dottie, she WILL take care of it.
Just as a follow up I called her today and thanked her for taking care of my problem so promptly. Her reply was "my pleasure" It's nice to know there is at least one person at that company that does what they say they will.
