Bought a case of Federal PNT9N 9mm 115gr for indoor training...I also recall that a similar or identical load worked well for enhanced penetration. I am aware of the problems some have reported with non/low-tox primers in the past.
The round is listed as "115gr non-toxic solid metallic projectile, non-frangible, with non-toxic primer, for training use only", but the box has no info on its construction, velocity, performance, etc.
Many thanks in advance for any info.
I'm an LEO and wondering whether this stuff would be any better than FMJ or PGHP in a reserve/3rd SMG mag.

FYI the original box doesn't have "non-frangible" on it; a large green label with the same Federal logo, UPC code and part # is applied to the end of each box.

IIRC, this was a contract load for the FBI that never went into service.

It's a solid copper bullet, truncated cone that leaves the barrel at 1,300 FPS (loaded to +P+ pressures). It's a pretty distinctive round - it has a bright blue white muzzle flash and a unique odor.

I don't know about the enhanced pentration capabilities of this load. I've used it against mild steel poppers, and bounced off.

If you have a line on this stuff, let me know.
