Picked up a French MAS-36 today for $60 OTD.....bore and chamber are immaculate, stock has been repaired and refinished but it's definitely a good shooter......shoots high at 100 yards using some Arabic junk ammo that it came with but I think I got a steal on it.
Pictures to follow at a later time.

Give the bore a good scrubbing, those Arabic rounds might have been corrosive.

Yeah they most likely were, I know for sure they weren't worth a damned...out of 28, 4 were duds and 6 more "hang fired" when I shot them. If I decide to keep this rifle I'll have to find a decent source of 7.5 somewhere since I don't reload.

Not bad for $60 in my opinion.

No time like the present to start ;f I think reloading is a very valuable "accessory" to Milsurps, just because there are a lot where cheap ammo is harder to find. Even .303 british isn't something you can run down to Wally World and pick up a few boxes. Gun store or online it's not hard to find, but still.

That's going to be the next set of dies I buy.

Problem is with living in a Condo though......no garage or basement and a wife that wouldn't take too kindly to powder residue left lying around. ;P

Another factor is my schedule......I spend far more time working than I do at home and when I am home I'm generally sleeping.

One of my buddies bult his in a closet so it would get the "Spousal Seal of Approval." Basically he made a small bench from home depot stuff, that fits front to back in the side of the closet, then he sits in it sideways and reloads. When he gets done, he just closes the closet. Although it DOES open you to the inevitable "come on out of the closet" jibes (depending on your friends maturity level ;f, I'm not above such jokes, so I rib him every chance I get!), if you have a closet that isn't already full, you might think about that. I'll see if I might could get some pics show you what it looks like.
