Anybody had any experience with one of these? I picked on up the other day and loved the feel. I'm curious as to reliability, accuracy, etc. It felt like it would be a great carry pistol with a nice option of DA or SA carry.

It's a CZ-75 clone. Made by Tangfolio in Italy, imported by springfield. Same as a baby eagle on the insides.

CZ, Tangfolio, Springfield, EAA-all the same.

Mmmm, I'm not so sure about that. The XD is made in Croatia, formerly known as the HS2000, and is a much better made gun than the Tanfoglio, even if it looks similar. For one thing, the slide of the XD isn't inverted on the rails like the Witness or CZ. It's also striker fired and is single action with a palm safety.

He wasn't asking about the Springfield XD, he was asking about a gun Springfield used to import and sell, the P-9.

S.A. XD = Croatian HS2000
S.A. P-9 = Tangfolio copy of CZ-75

tangfolios and CZ's are 99% the same, but parts do not interchange from what I have been told.

The P9 is a good pistol, but to get the most out of it you should get a good barrel for it, from ie. Bar-Sto.

Tanfoglio is notorious for their spread in barrel quality, you might get a very good one or a pos. Once you have that, you will probably also need to replace all the springs in the pistol with Wolff springs.

At the end of the day, probably cheaper to buy a quality pistol that comes with a good barrel right from the factory, like from GLOCK, SIG, Beretta, Walther or HK, S.A.-XD.

Given that you have such a wide choice, rather spend you money on something that comes with good major parts (frame, slide, barrel) right from the factory.

From all that I have seen, by the time you tune up a CZ or one of its cheap clones into a good pistol with new springs, good barrel, trigger job... you no longer have what you purchased... the only CZ clone in 9mm that comes as it should be from the factory would be a Swiss made Sphinx S2000... but then you also pay the price. Don't buy a S2000 in .40S&W, their slides can break if you shoot lots of +P ammo (known problem fixed in the S3000).

There are quite a few competetive shooters that will dosagree with the major parts of the last post. The Tangfolio is a fine pistol, the barrel is fine, the frame is fine, it would serve you quite well. It was quite popular in IPSC games a few years back.

bud i have an EAA witness that at first wouldnt feed anything even ball but.............always a but isn't there? it would literally drive tacks at anything from contact to 25yds after a short visit to its home in fla. now it will feed anything even cheap rnl reloads and is still a tack driver. your P9 is just a much better finished and prepared version in full size, i assume its a full-size mine's a compact..i like small frame guns even though as you know i'm a rather large fellow:) hey for 300.00 bucks new out the door with a 1 hi-cap mag who can complain. whats not to like nice even black finish 3-dot hi-vis sights rubber pebbled grips and most of all cocked and locked;a well cheers my friend...when i see ya i'll show ya my new toy springfield loaded .45 oh boy happy days i got rid of that sig 220 i never liked.
