View Full Version : MK9 width?

Can anyone tell me exactly how wide an MK9 is in the grip including the standard grip panels?I know the specs say it is .9 inches in the slide and I understand the frame is the same thickness but that doesn't include the grip panels. When glock specs state the width of one of their guns it is the widest part, not so with Kahr.I'm thinking the grips have to add at least .1 inch per side which would make the MK9 only .08 thinner than a glock.I'm making a big deal out of all this because I'm thinking of buying an MK9 only for the width advantage,If its not significantly thinner I'm going with a G26.

My PM( calipers at 0.905" across the slide, 0.900" across the frame, 0.952" across the grips (including the AGrip I have installed, and 1.110" across the slide-stop/takedown-pin.

Thanks jdege for the quick reply.I wonder if there is any difference between the polymer and the steel versions?

Well for me there is a big difference in width between the Kahr and the Glock. I really like the MK9 and the size for me is perfect. I think you should get your self a Kahr first and then the Glock.

I can’t tell you the exact measurement that you are looking for because I never wrote it down & can’t remember exactly what it was, but can tell you that the MK9 & the G26 measure the same at their grips… width wise.

This is one of the reasons I choose my G19 over my K9 just about every time!

(If you toss the PM9, P9 Covert or P9 into the mix then the Kahr wins hands down on thickness over the GLOCK… the steel Kahrs are not as thin as polymer Kahrs for sure.)

P.S. I’m a Kahr fan & a GLOCK fan.

I dont have a caliper but I can, with no pressure exerted, drop my MK9 into the mag well opening of my G19 until, of course, it contacts the back of the G19's mag chute.
