I was wondering if anyone has researched the Kahr serial numbers like the Glock serial numbers. I would like to know if Kahr has a recall or if certian serial numbered guns have problems. I have a early PM9 ser# VA36XX and have not experianced alot of problems, but have experianced fft/ffe and not going into battery 100% of the time. I have called Kahr repeatedly only to get transfered to a full mail box. I love the promise of the gun, but am weary to carry it untill I am confident in it. Thanks for your help.
How many rounds have you put down range?
Which mag did you have FTF with?
We need details. The problems you mention usually go away with a couple of hundred rounds being shot.
Mine has been perfect. Serial # VA44XX

My PM9 is VB038X. The only problem I've had is with CorBon 115gr. rounds failing to feed. This was after the 200 round break-in period and with both magazines.
I've had no problems with the following ammo:
Winchester 115gr. FMJ (WWB)
Federal PD HydraShok 135gr. JHP
CorBon PowRBall 100gr. JHP (+P)
Remington Golden Saber 124gr. JHP (+P)
I'm leaning towards Remington, but need to shoot more of it before I'll carry it.

PM9 two-tone, # VA9644. casing collection envelope has the date 4/8/04.
2 fail to battery in second 100 round of WWB ball ammo break-in session. gun was hot and dry. few drops of lube on barrel and hood. good to go for rest of value-pack.
no failures yet with premium JHP. GD and HS 124 gr. still testing ammo. moving into 147 gr. am carrying HS 124 for the time being.
(what is with this reluctance to share serial numbers? they are plainly visible on the gun. gun was in the display case at my local dealer. what's someone going to do, enscribe it on their own?)

I have about 500-600rds through it using only the flush fitting mag. (its the one I would use when carring). Some people dont like posting the whole number for security reasons. We simply don't want to share too much info about our guns. I don't know who is watching. Just like I would never type my social security number on a computer. My wife and I went through a up hill battle with identity theft. Sad how people are. Isn't it.
