i just bought a p40, and it is really grat, except that when i shoot my 180gr loads, my trigger finger hits the mag release during recoil. i know there are a few obvious answers- don't shoot heavy loads, adjust my finger placement, but has anyone had this experience and how (other than stated above) did you remedy that?

At least yours works....
I had the same problem. I wasn't able to adjust my grip enough so I sold the gun. After I had I heard that you can replace the magazine catch to "solve" the problem. It's worth a try.
I had the same problem with my MK-40 and I bought a mag catch spring from wolff. It was for a Colt 1911 part # IS 32331 its a 10% extra power spring that worked great. Their phone number is 800 545 0077
Good Luck
Nick:)

Kahr has a “mag catch option” available that they will send you for free that should solve your problem... I'm assuming your problem is releasing the mag unintentionally during fire?
