Where do you go to re-load magazines after shooting a stage? I assume the safety area, but next weekend is my first match and I was wondering.

You can reload mags just about anywhere. You can only handle your GUN in "Safe Zones" or at the firing line under the command of the range officer.

I see this is an old thread, and I was wondering if it is still true. Can you load your magazines anywhere on the premises at any time or are there restrictions? Also, is it ok to have a bunch loaded already when you arrive?

Yes, I load my mags the night before so when I get to the range I'm ready to go and when I finsh a stage, I reload the mags for the next stage. I have not seen any rules change that would prevent you from loading your mags anywhere you want to!

You may load your magazines anytime, anywhere. You may only handle your pistols in the safe areas or at the command of the range officers.

I normally show up with 10 magazines loaded and ready to go.

The range at Topton has a lot of nice, shady areas. Enjoy!

Almost correct. Unless GSSF is a bit more laxed than say IPSC, you may NOT handle any ammo in the safe zones. Guns and ammo don't mix where the safe zones are concerned.
An EMPTY mag would be ok.

I believe TJC has hit it on the head. No ammo or loaded mags handled in a saffe zone.

That is the way it is handled at all USPSA matches. Handle ammo anywhere EXCEPT the safe area. Handle firearm ONLY in safe area or at the line with an RO. I was quite surprised by the "RO" supervising the "safe area" at NH yesterday. Once I had my gun out of the bag and holstered he told me that I could go ahead and load my magazines there if I wished. I declined, and left the safe area to perform that function. Nice range at Nashua fish and game. Nice people working the match as well.
