View Full Version : B-Square "scout" scope mount for Moisin-Nagant M44?
Anyone ever used one of these? They are about $50 and mount at the rear sight location. They say no drilling is required and to use a long eye relief type scope.
Are these mounts any good? Do they hold a zero with a light scope? I'm thinking of 3X or 4X scope with a 25-32mm lens.
Can one of these rifles in the best condition I can find shoot 2 inches at 100yds if I and the ammo can?
Sorry, I know thats several questions. I'm thinking of using one of these rifles for hunting this fall.

Pure junk...Pay $20 more and get VERY good quality S&K, it's the best scout mount out there.
Thanks! Is the S&K mount also a scout type? I'll try to find some info on this new interweb thingy....

I had a B-square mount on a Russian M44 and M91/30. Both were topped off with Simmons 4X pistol scopes. I used the mounts for 5-6 years with no complaints. They held zero, stayed in place and I was able to get some decent groups even with the low magnification.
Thanks.
I'm thinking of getting one of these for woods hunting.
Competition is:
1. Savage package deal .308 (rifle, scope, case, sling, $340)
2. Remington 7400 Carbine .30-06 ($400, plus scope, mount, rings)

B-square....Had 3 of them, used blue lock-tite on all. Every one fail , some within 20 rd and 1 held up all trough 120rd.
Have 3 S&K, so far no problems....(580+rd)
Just look at the design of each one. S&K is also secured from the bottom (inside-rear sight base) but B-square and New Century are only secure by top screws one in front and the one ine back. They work by the screws pushing on both sides and creating pressure on pivot/fulcrum where the sight pin was... Nothing beats S&K design even much better design then Darrel's.
You get what you paid for.... that saying works in most cases, which is in this case as well.
