View Full Version : grip suggestions for a GSR
I don't really like the grips that come on the GSR. What do you guys suggest for good grips? Pictures would be a great help also! I'm even thinking about the black rubber ones that are on the s&W 1911 and the Kimber tle.

I purchased Alumagrips for my GSR and I love them. Chris the owner of Alumagrips personally answered all of my questions when I e-mailed him for information. He recommended that I purchase them from Brownells because they were less expensive there. Can you believe that? Good Luck!

Bluewater,
Did you shoot the GSR with the grips that came with the gun? If so, what did you think? You must not have liked it since you changed the grips! What are those grips like that you have on the GSR?
Thanks

stepper - I shot my GSR many times with the stock grips. I have pretty tough hands but the stock grips are very sharp and seemed to make my right hand tender, so I opted for different grips. Also, the Alumagrips are much better looking, in my opinion.

Are the Alumagrips plastic? Its hard to tell what kind of material they are made of.

The GSR is a great pistol but the stock grips really suck. I don't know anyone who likes them.

I have VZ-grips' Gatorback bead-blasted black canvas micarta grips on my GSR:

When they are clean, they are rather light colored, almost green.
With use, they get darker, but can be cleaned with soapy water to return to the original look.

I'm using Alumagrips on my rail gun. They fit perfectly and I like the way they feel and look too.

My other rail gun, a Kimber TLE/RL, has rosewood double diamonds. These are the stock take off from the Custom CDP. They have very sharp, aggressive checkering.
