Looking to buy either a Colt Defender or Springfield Ultra V10. Any opinions on which is better?? Also anyone interested in selling or trading one??

I have a Colt Defender. I love it. I haven't had any problems with it and I carry it everyday. I don't know about the Springfield but I generally prefer the Colts. Over all I think that are better made.

I'm really happy with it. I had trouble with concealment at first but when I got my Threat Solutions UCR the gun just disappeared. I have tried full size 1911's in this holster and they don't seem any harder to conceal. So you might think about that.

The new Colts that are coming out right now are awesome. They Now have a life-time warranty just like the Springer, but unlike the Springer they don't have any MIM parts. Sure the colt will probably be more expensixe to start out with, but when you take into account that you will probably want to exchanng the MIM parts of the Springfield for more reliable components, then the Springfield is actually more expensive.

However I wouldn't say that either of them are "dogs" and I wouldn't feel at all undergunned with the Springer. In fact, I don't own one now but I someday will probably buy one of their compact modles for conceled carry. The reasoning for this is that it just makes me feel bad to wear off the finish on a Colt. That is a moral delima that I won't have with the Springfield. I will, of course, do away with the MIM parts for ones machined from bar-stock.

Those are just my personal views, both are excelently servicable firearms that will be reliable when you need them most.

P.S. Right now I have a 5" Colt and can conceal it easily with a high-ride holster. Of course I'm a relatively large guy at about 195 lbs. I don't know what your build is, but if you are 170+ I'd say you should have no trouble concealing a full size 1911 if you wanted. Comfort, on the other hand, is a differend matter and is why I will someday buy a more compact model for concealed carry.

Im sorry, I may have erred when I said Colt's have no MIM parts, but they definately have fewer than the springer does.
