Do the G30 and the G36 use the same barrel? Not just equal lengths, I know they are both 3.78" long. I'm wondering if they use the exact same barrel (i.e. you could swap the barrels and it wouldn't affect anything).
Just curious. TIA.

There are people here that have swapped slides with no reported problems.

The G36 barrel is reported to be thinner than the G30 barrel so I assume they aren't interchangeable.

Be aware that there are possible issues between swapping parts on Glocks (or any pistols) and you should proceed very carefully.

I stick with what Glock or Glockmeister recommends.

www.glockmeister.com and ask for Ben... He's the armourer and seems to be pretty knowledgeble.

I got a new G30 two weeks ago and noticed that the barrel on it is noticably thinner than the barrel of a 1997 G30 I had been using.

Does anyone know why or when Glock started using thinner barrels on the G30's ?

Anyone else notice this or looked at one of the older ones compared to a newer one ?

Maybe the newer G30 got the bastid Glock's barrel? At least that is what some Walter from GA would say ;f

Me thinks, Glock learned that the G36's barrel is holding up sufficiently, so they made the G30's lighter and simpler. Makes sense to me.
