I went to my favorite gunshop today just to look at guns. Never really cared about the 3" 1911's. I've heard too much about reliablity problems, loss of velocity from the short barrels, and so on. Still it felt nice in the hand. I went over to the 1911 forum and did a search under Kimber for the gun. Seems from reading about a 50/50 proposition as to weather you get one from the box that's good to go. So how about it folks? Those of you that have one what do you think? I want some input before I buy, or not.

It takes some getting used to. It's sure not a full sized 1911 so your going to have to really understand how a short action 1911 works. Your going to have to break it in with 500 rounds or more of 230gr ball Ammo. Get some Wilson 47OX Mags make sure it has nightsights.

Happy with mine - flawless out of the box - it replaced my G27 as my primary carry a few months ago.
