After a few weeks of research and testing (a fair amount conducted here at GT), I finally became the proud owner of a new Kahr TP9 (with MMC adj. sights). Took it to the property my family owns (myself and a cousin put up a range out there).

Ran 300 rounds of ball ammo through it, with zero - count 'em, zero - malfunctions. I have to say, I was kind of wary of the position of the feed ramp (looks very strange when compared with my P228), but had no complaints at the end of the day.

It has incredibly manageable recoil for such a light pistol. It has (at least for me) a very natural pointability. The three dot MMC sights are nice too.

200 round break-in period? What break in period? This thing was ready to go out of the box...will most likely become my CCW piece once I test it with various JHPs.

Excellent firearm...

I can definitely see owning a TP9 soon... been keeping my eyes open for a good deal/steal.

Thanks for the report!

FYI, if/when I get the TP9 I will own every (excluding finish options) polymer 9mm Kahr makes + end up being able to make one option they don’t offer at all… I have a P9 Covert & a PM9 currently. If/when I get the TP9 I can swap its upper with my P9 Covert’s upper. My P9 Covert’s upper will turn a TP9’s lower into a regular P9. A TP9’s upper will turn my P9 Covert’s lower into a “TP9 Covert”, which would be a new option. ;)

Personally, I can't wait for the TP40 to come out.

I am guessing the "T" is for Tactical? Is this to the P9, what the G34 is to the G17? That would make sense to me.

I do believe it is for “Target”.

Yeah, pretty much!

The T9 is a little different story then the TP9 however in that the T9’s lower has a longer grip then the K9 does. The TP9’s lower is identical to the P9’s lower & the TP9’s upper should slide right onto the P9’s lower like the G34’s upper will slide right onto the G17’s lower.

How does the TP9 compare to the P9? I have a P9 and I am interested in purchasing a TP9.

on the website. The one with Novak night sights is listed as Tactical. The one with standard adjustable is listed as Target. The "T" goes either way. Basically a bit longer than the P9.

I have a TP9 also. With about 300 rounds. No failures.

I am picking mine up on Monday morning. It is still plenty comfortable and easy to conceal, not much difference than my PM9, but I like the feel of it a lot better. I can draw it and get a much quicker aim on a target with the longer slide & barrel. The sightly longer grip is nice but still concealable. Lastly, the larger mag is a plus.
