Lasermax for my G30 on the way... I just didn't want to pass up the benefits (possible way to avoid a shoot, some people are prone to surrender), being able to shoot if disabled/gun not lined up with sights, etc... I do not plan to give up my good shooting techniques (frontsight!). Current sights are Mepro NightSights...
1700, I'm off of work. Just curious if anyone has anything constructive to add or ask.

Will do. My Glock 30 (bought used, wtih 700 rounds without failure), has an additional 300 rounds, without failure, so any hiccups can be attributed to the new device. I found new (and new production) for ~278. Will post range report and post back here.
I have had on of the LMax lasers in my G17 for almost 7 years now. Avoided 2 shootings by placing the laser on the BG's person. Good insurance. Great training tool at the range - instant tell tale if you flinched. Get used to looking THRU the iron sights at the laser, not just relying on the laser alone. They hold up to a lot of abuse and rounds. I have probably put 20k or more thru the gun WITH the laser installed. No failures or hiccups at all. Change the recoil spring every six months or so and you will never have a problem.
PM or email me if you would like some training/familiarization tips or have any questions.

Great to hear. I figure if it helps me (currently just a CCW holder, possible future LE) avoid a shoot, it's worth the price. However, where did you get the replacement springs? Were they lasermax, or glock oem? What do you do for batteries?
Thank you for kind and informative post.

Lasermax has the recoil springs. Batteries as well. easier and cheaper thru them. Glock OEM springs will not work with the system.
Email me and I can help you out more.

What will the repurcussions be on holster selection with the Lasermax?

No change in any equipment as the lasermax is inside the pistol. I have on both my G30 and G26. they work great and you will love 'em.They are activated buy pressing on the take down spring lever and can be activated on either side of the firearm. Two things to watch for.1) After a few shots you may have to reactivate to the laser as the recail vibration will cause the switch to move. 2)You will find the laser becoming dimmer the more rounds you fire. Just field strip the gun and clean the gold contact on the rear of the lasermax and reassemble. You'll be good for another couple hundred rounds. Hope this helps and it's the very first thing I ordered when I got my Big Dawg.

None at all. The Lasermax is completely internal. You field strip the gun, replace the guide rod with the Lasermax, replace the takedown lever with a custom one that serves as an on/off switch, put the rest of the gun back together like usual. No one will know you even have a Lasermax untill you turn it on.

digitspaw is somewhat correct. I can relate to you some of my knowledge on this. I have put thousands upon thousands of round thru Lasermax enhanced Glocks ( and others) during my shooting career. On the downsized version Glock models, the slidelock spring may somethimes let the laser unit turn off. Not a bad potion as you wouldn't want it on all the time anyway. As for the dimming, it is more likely that the gunk (lead, nitrates, etc.) that comes out of the business end of the gun is coating the lens, thus causing the dimness. Cleaning the contact is still a good idea, but clean the whole thing. In the holster question, there may be some of the 'Fobus' type holsters that may actually turn on the laser as you draw the firearm. Some of them are made so tight that when you draw, the lip of the holster hits the switch. And for those of us that shoot with a 'thumb forward' hold, watch your thumb as it usually will rest right about where the slidelock switch juts out. Anything else?

The front gets pretty cruddy from muzzle yuk. Never had my Fobus paddle turn on the switch but I don't use that holster very often at all. Only for open carry at the club. I use a Smart Carry for both the G26 and G30 and a Comp Tac C-TAC fro the G26. No issues with either.
