View Full Version : Springfield Loaded 1911-A1
I'm going to buy a Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 in the next month. I'm only going to be using it for the range and just to have a 1911. Do you think this is a good gun for that?

That's more than a good gun for that. The Loaded series are quite the nice pistols. You'll notice a tighter slide-to-frame fit than the Mil-Specs, and all the bells and whistles have already been added for you. It's considered an "assembly-line custom" pistol.
I have the Loaded Operator, and I like it a lot. I had a little problem with the Slide Stop Plunger Pin, and it's still in its break-in period in terms of tightness, but it's accurate, and damn' fun to shoot. The only changes I have/will make are: Pachmayr wrap-around grips (done), replacing the full-length guide rod with a regular one, (that's just a personal preference) and general carry bevelling.
You might find that this becomes more than just a "range gun" quite quickly.
So, Parked, Stainless, ot two-tone?
