Hello

I have a question concerning the price, reliability, and recommendations on a used gun I came across and I am thinking of buying.

It is a Springfield Armory 1911. I believe it is the PI9132L model as listed on their website. I am going to check it out again to verify. I do remember the brown handgrips, the skeletonized hammer and the adjustable rear sight. It has the hard blue box but I did not see the contents as it was behind a locked cabinet. Has anyone bought one of these recently? If so did it come with standard screwdriver slots on the handgrips or were they the star shaped screw heads?

Like I said before, the gun is used but it looks virtually new except for a small blemish right at the front and bottom of the frame. Can't even be classified as a scratch. Asking price would come out to $642 out the door. Would it be reasonable to offer $575 out the door? Or is this gun worth the $642 asking price? Or should I offer even less?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

not to up on the springfields, however, assuming it is the parkerized version and not stainless, I saw a loaded parked like you describe here in az for 539.00 you can also get em brand new from the 'scottsdale gun center for 589.00, another 40 is 630 for the brand new version of the same gun. Just a thought.

To be a little more descriptive the gun appears to be the
Stainless Steel PI9132L.

It is a stainless model with fully adjustable rear sights.

Come on guys, I need some help here.

Upon checking it out again. It is the model I thought it was. I tried offering $550 out the door. They said the best they could do is $600 out the door, that is saving me tax on it, as they have it priced at $600 anyway. I know it isn't a screaming deal but I just want to make sure I am not taking it in the rear.
