What an incredible .40 S&W. Light as a feather, I can carry it all day long and literally forget I'm wearing it!

Only malfunctions so far are shooter induced. Until I got used to the small thin size of it my thumb would occasionally activate the slide stop with rounds still in the mag.

Previous owner apparently tried it out and didn't like it, had very slight wear marks on the top of the barrel hood and slight burrs on the top edge of the barrel hood where it "locks up" with the front of the ejection port.

100 rounds later the burrs were gone and quite a bit more "shiny" wear on top of the barrel hood is evident. Pistol functions fine and recoil is surprisingly light for lightweight small .40.

Gotta order some night sights and another magazine or two for it. This is an incredible carry piece!

I have/had the same problem with all of my Kahrs as you’ve noted… figured a way to hold the Kahr to stop it, but then decided I didn’t want to change the way I hold all of my handguns just for the Kahr or have a “special hold” just for the Kahr. I ended up modifying the slide stop/catch/release lever & haven’t had the problem again! Check it out: (see attached)

Gotta love that “low bore axis” on the Kahr!!! ^c

Don’t forget your AGrip (http://www.brookstactical.com/)! (The guys would think that there was something wrong with me if I hadn’t mentioned that! ;))

FYI, do a “search” on AGrip/Kahr & you can read all about the combo specifically.

I also advocate the A-Grip.

On my P9 Covert, I put a Hogue Handall Jr. grip sleeve on first, and wrapped it with an A-Grip.

The A-Grip feels great (and I love the finger groove from the Handall), and recoil is softened. No slippage either.

just out of curiosity or my own ignorance, whatever you want to call it, i have a question...because it appears you shortened the length of your slide lever...wouldn't that affect the final resting position of the slide following last shot, and if it does, is it too insignificant to affect final round ejection or 1st round feed on the reload? (okay, it was actually a two-part question)

Good question LittleFoot…

My slide stop lever modification did not affect anything but the outer “pad” on the lever… nothing “internal” was touched at all... in other words, the portion on the inside of the lever that catches the slide on the last round fired wasn’t affected.

FYI, there is a hollowed out portion in the polymer Kahr slide stop lever & I was careful not to grind/file/sand into it. I used it as my guide & took away the excess metal around it.

(Keep in mind that the Kahr slide stop lever WILL rust if you don’t treat the newly exposed metal! I used a bluing pen for all mine.)
