I found and bought a Carcano carbine today. My local dealer is retireing and selling a ton of stuff at a large discount. I stopped by today to pick up some ammo and found a little Carcano on the shelf. The price tag was $109 but I got it for $60. Now I need a little help identifying it.

The carbine is 36" long and the reciever is stamped Brescia and is dated 1902. The barrel looks to be 6.5 caliber. The stock is in very good condition which makes me wonder if it's original or a replacement. The barrel looks nasty, I'll try to tackle that tomorrow. It does not have a bayonet. Anyone know which Carcano model this is?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get some pics up later tonight.

Yes, my Carcano is a 91/24. It started life as a full length 91 but was converted after WWI. It's an interesting piece of history. I haven't shot it yet but I plan on it one of these days.
