my dad gave me his old computer from about 97/98 and i was wondering i f there is any hardware i could use in my dell?

the sony is just sitting here and what should i do with it?

Well a Sony Viao can be anything thing. How bout a model number.

Oh these are laptops right? isn't much you can swap. Just keep it as a spare or load Linux on it and play.

Laptops are basically propriatary. You MAY be able to use things like RAM or HDD, but I'm betting those are smaller than the ones already in the Dell or flat won't work.

no, it's a desktop model number PCV 70 personal computer.

i'll take any salvage use i can get, it beats throwing it away.

Just chuck it in the closet for spare parts. Most parts in a desktop are standardized and are easily exchanged.

If you feel like playing, reformat and load Windows on it to test out spyware, viruses, etc. Hone your PC fixer-upper skills ;f
