change my G-17?

I want to strip my G-17 and send it to Glock to have the polymer section of it swoped out for the one that has the dove tail for sliding on a light or what ever else. Can this be done?

I would just go out and buy another G17 for the light, instead of doing the swap out which MIGHT be cost prohibitive.

Well...

In Switzerland the price for a new 3rd Gen. Frame, same S/N (takes some time to get it) is CHF 165.- = +/- US$ 132.-

Count 4-6 weeks, rather more in the US.
