View Full Version : Road Star Warrior?

I've been looking at Yamaha's Road Star Warrior and I really like the bike. I was wondering if anyone has one or has ridden one and how they like it?

I lady I ride with has one!
It is the fastest bike I've ever been on. Twist the throttle and you're 120 mph in the blick of an eye!
She LOVES it. It's not that commfy to me but I like a more relaxed and upright riding position.
I think hers is an '02 or '03. I like hers better than the new ones.
Hers is purple.
One mean bike for sure!

If I was cruiser shopping it would be at the top of my list to look at. Check out an FZ1 while your there. It's a very comfortable sport-touring bike: and 5K cheaper.

Unless you are going to do a lot of touring, you may want to look at the VStar 1100. Add pipes and a maxair kit and you'll probably think twice about needing a "bigger" bike.

The Warrior is one of the BEST bikes out there! Iv'e owned a bunch of bikes in my life, and this one is a great all-around motorcycle. The long wheelbase keeps it rock steady on the highway. Yet, with the sportbike type frame, it handles sweet. Very easy to control at ANY speed, on any curve. The ride is comfortable. The motor is super torquey. I can't say enough good things about it. Here is a Warrior forum with great members. I'm still a member, even though I now have a Suzuki Hayabusa.
PS: I had a VStar 1100. The Warrior handles and rides BETTER. In every way its better.

That bike looks pretty nice (especially without the huge factory exhaust can on it). I wonder why Yamaha didn't fill in the area between the front of the gas tank and the fork. Something like the Vmax's fake air scoops might do the trick.

I think I should've also recommended the original cruiser bike with "attitude" and the performance to back it up.

2005 20th Anniversary Limited Edition V Max

The V-Max is a cool bike. I had a '95 and a '01. The motor is the heart of this one. Acceleration! But, it handles like crap. Its most happy goin' straight. Its top-heavy feeling with a passenger. But its fairly comfy cruisin' around and on the highway. I would take a Warrior over the Max anyday.
I bike that accelerates like a V-Max, yet handles awesome, is a Kawasaki ZRX1200R. And they only go for about $7000 new. A great all-around mc.
