Just got my G36 the other day, bought it from another GT member. My first impressions were that it's weight and dimensions were similar to my G19. With the magazine making up 1/3 of the front of the grip, and the backstrap area being shorter than the front made me think it would be a little uncomfortable to shoot. Just like with the G26, I was wrong. I test fired the G36 today at the range, shot a box of fifty 230 grain ball. No surprise that it had no hiccups of any kind. Recoil was surprisingly light, the gun felt very balanced, and it shot where I aimed it. I didn't know what you guys could be talking about when you mention 'pinky bite', and while I understand what you mean now, I didn't find it to be significant. Yeah, a hotter round may make a difference with both this and recoil, but I think I'm going to be very happy with my newest Glock.

Here's a pic of my target if anyone cares to see, all shot from 10 yards. This is my first .45 auto, I've shot them before but not much. I think I've been bitten by the .45 bug

**EDIT- I forgot one thing- what's up with the violent brass? I got doinked on the forehead half a dozen times, doesn't hurt but it's a little startling! ;f

Yet another convert to the cult of the Little Big Dog...

It never seems to fail... Someone actually shoots a G36 and they fall in love with it... :soap:

Glad you like your G36... Welcome to the world of the Little Big Dog... ;f

The brass in the head thing should stop once you get used to shooting it, though looking at that target it seems you have no problem making it hit where you want. I got brass in the face and a nice burn on my shoulder the first time I took mine out.

Dunno about the brass and the forehead contact issue. I haven't experienced it or heard of it...

But then I mostly shoot my own reloads so maybe that has something to do with it. Almost all my brass ends up about 5 feet from me at 4:30.

Has nothing to do with reloads and everything to do with getting used to the gun and not limp wristing. It's been mentioned more than a few times here and in the Sub Club.

Guess so... The only pistol I ever had that problem with was a Desert Eagle 50AE... I had the devil's own time learning to hold that pistol and shoot it right and maybe that's why I don't limp wrist Glocks... ;P

Interesting that you guys would mention limp wristing, I'll pay more attention next time to see if I'm doing it. I know that's not been a problem for me before with 9mm and .40 but like I said I've never owned a .45 so I could be doing it and not realizing it. After getting M-16 brass down the front of my BDU t-shirts in my Army days, nothing really bothers me when it comes to stuff like this ;f
