Hey crufflers,

I just ordered my first Swede, kind of a mongrel but it appears the barrel was unfired. Action and barrel swapped out of a CG63 straight from the Arsenal.

Anyway, I've done a lot of load development for .260Rem (6.5-08), and I've found that the short FB Sierra 100gr pills are super accurate out to 200m.

I know the Swedes like the 140s, but I want to give the 100 and 120grainers a try -- they're cheaper and give less recoil.

Got any pet loads for short bullets?

I like 160 gr'ers for my 6.5X55's.

Best I can offer is that most Swedes like Reloader 19. It's similar to the original powder used in the Swede military loads. I'm guessing you may have trouble seating the short bullets out enough to get close to the lands. My husband's 'meat mauser' (in 30-06) had horrible groups with 150-165gr bullets but tightened up real nice when he went to 180s. That old rifle is a bit throaty!
