even though it is in your profile, often people do not list ti, and this thread was not just started to give out sn's but also just forpeople to make a comment on one of the instant messenger services

I use gaim under Linux (http://gaim.sourceforge.net/) to access Yahoo and AOL simultaneously (only need the one client).

i thought it was aim for gnome? maybe it's gnu + aim.

I use Trillian. That way it will cover aol, yahoo, and msn.

Me too. It covers ICQ and IRC as well.
Trillian on Windows, Gaim on Linux for me.

i've heard it is the best and so far i agree. it is small, you can get plugins for most protocols (icq, msn, yahoo and others i dont use), and it is so simple it never causes any problems.
