Well, it seems like it's time to work on your endurance. We will schedule you for a workout with Mongo to determine your limits of exertion.
Just curious Roundeyesammuri, are you a bleeder ?

Mongo, besides being a gourmet chef divine, is also in charge of the health club/spa/fittness arena. Not only can he put the weight on you with a feast, he can remove it in various insideious fashions.

Sleep well, you'll need it !

This could get way Ugleee REAL fast.

What if Mongo decides He's the front of the line ? Who's gonna be the sacrafice that tells him differently ?

Call off the National Guard.

Actually, Unkle, Mongo is way ahead of you on this one! He has discovered a PRIMO 10mm recruiting opportunity.

Mongo has set up the break area for the National Guard people. His truly inspired insight: He put the break area next to the shooting range!

The soldiers, after sampling Mongo's exemplary quisine, wander over to the range for some plinking, before returning to duty controlling the psychotic 10-Ringers (pardon my redundancy) fighting to get to the front of G33's "Big Boy" line.

Another brilliant Mongo idea: We have some 1911s on the line, for 1) those soldiers on a nostalgia kick, and 2) those soldiers whose ONLY sidearm has been the wimpy 9mm the government decreed they must carry. So we have sucked them into the 45 continuum.

At this point, of course, the Penthouse faithful reading this post begin ranting about the injustice of 45 recruitment in the sacred 10mm jurisdiction. Getteth not thy bowels in an uproar! Here is Mongo's brilliant capstone idea: We have some 10mm weapons available for the soldiers to "incidently" sample while they are on their 45 nostalgia trip. The soldiers (already primed by their 45 experience on our range) witness the devastation inflicted by the 10mm, mentally compare it to the pitiful impact of their at-best marginally sufficient 9mm popguns, and enlist en-masse in the noble 10mm movement!

This setup has my vote. Penthouse types, give the word, and we will make it so!

RESammi, go ahead and say it! If it is a stylish, humorous, and classy reason, everyone here will savor the contribution to our Caliber Repartee exchanges.

If, on the other hand, your reason is reprehensible, you are probably still safe. 10-Ring protocol requires that all banishments be formally approved by a sober quorum of the Penthouse Faithful. This would probably delay your banishment for an extended period.

Actually, I don't shoot any competition- I usually find that when I show up to competition, someone invariably knows me, tells everyone else who I am, and then I have a group of competitors converging on me to ask me silly questions about "real combat"- and usually a few people in the background telling whomever will listen that they can "outshoot" me, and that somehow makes them superior to me in the combat skills set.

And I thought we already resolved the 9mm issue! ;f

Hello folks. Mongo says Hi! All is well, if you do not count the mostly short-circuit Borgs. It looks like SNAFU in here--the Lagoon and Cabana. Dearest Rabbity has been, how can I describe this, well facinating. S28 and GeeThreeThree are flirting in all directions.

Hello to: Uncle, Roundsomething, Bull, Joey, Tazz the Powerful, etc.

Got a new contract with some food place. Someone has to work. G. just plays with guns and dead things. Yuk comes to mind. What...?

Oh, Dearest Rabbity will be in shortly, heh...heh. Good grief it is fun. I should find a photo for the new guys. Of G? Boy she gets hot when I do that. Thinking..........

I am hoping that to be the case, cause there are a lot of young 20 somethings out there that kicked my arse on the fitness test. Lets hope that experience and college degree pay off in spades. RES, it just plain sorta sucks not having a badge and gun handy (although I still have a badge and gun handy, the badge is mere decoration now) I feel naked, or shunned or something. Plus moving to a foreign country (Oklahoma To Virginia is like that) I feel sorta alone here.

And as for working the opening day of deer season, I have always been a live and let live sorta guy, so those folks can go blast away at Bambi all they like, I don't mind working the streets, those deer never did anything to me, so I don't hold anything against them. First time they wreck my car though, they are dead meat.;f

New York is the same- we're good to carry in those states that recognize a retiree's pistol permit, but NY isn't doing LEOSA qualifications yet.

Virginia, to the best of my knowledge, IS doing LEOSA qualifications- you should be able to qualify on VA's course and be good to go, as long as you have an ID which simply identifies you as a retired OK officer.

Permit me a moment to reassure the inebriated 10-Ringers (pardon my redundancy) that eng15etc's temporary incapacitation will have no effect on the beer supply for this weekend's blowout. The finely honed delivery system that we lowly (blah blah blah) Dungeon types have built was specifically designed to allow key personnel, such as Eng15, to divert time to other desirable pursuits - such as sleep.

Be assured that I personally will track the beer supply situation thru the extended multiday weekend blowout. I will do so, despite my heavy time committments to admin, chamber sessions, multiple (but not yet overlapping, thank God!) private dinners in the most exclusive of the private dining rooms, and preparations for the commemoration next Friday of the 200th anniversary of the fleet engagement at Trafalgar.

IMPORTANT 10-RING FACILITY ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

Listen up, you miscreant 10-Ringers! (Pardon my redundancy.) We have a big one here.

On Friday, Oct. 21 in the Lagoon, as part of the 200th anniversary, the Pirate Fleet will re-enact the Battle of Trafalgar. They are really hyped up on this; simulating service to sovereign authorities is a real kick for them.

Now for the BIG feature of this: The 10-Ring will clean up on publicity for this event! The Dungeon has come up big on media coverage. Because of the historical nature of this event, we have worked a deal for the fabled "Trifecta" of the scholarly broadcasting world: A&E, History Channel, AND Discovery!

Now we acknowledge that this will not bring in the REALLY big bucks; after all, this is not an HBO pay-per-view. We feel, however, that financial considerations should, in this case, be subordinated to the exposure of the 10-Ring to an important perceptive and scholarly constituency.

(Rabbi, a question.) ... Sure, go ahead ... (Wouldn't there be more zing if we called it a "hat trick", rather than "trifecta"?) ... Perhaps. But "hat trick" is really an ice hockey term, and it would be meaningful only to 10-Ringers old enough to remember seeing an NHL game. ... (Hmmmm ... good point)

We may need 10-Ringer assistance on Friday. Any 10-Ringer willing to be sober for a least a three hour period that day should notify the service staff sometime this week. Note: we do not need ALL 10-Ringers sober that day. In fact, complete 10-Ring sobriety would DETRACT from the ambiance that attracted the broadcast crews to our operation in the first place!

More later, as events develop.

Bullman
10-17-2005, 19:55
I will volunteer, I guess.

I might also add, that there could be a concessions boom with all the extra film people around, plus the pirate fleet is bound to be thirsty after all that reenacting. With the usual skim of course
;)

Have no fear, Unkle! Sobriety would be required ONLY UNTIL sundown on Friday. At that time, all concerned would be released from sobriety duty, and could return to standard-issue 10-Ring drunken debauchery. This time sequence would give you a 30-hour transition window leading up to your commencement celebration. For a professional of your skill and experience, this should be adequate time for your reshifting from serious sobriety back to normal 10-Ring party mode.

I want to know who that SharkFrenzy person is in the post count. There isn't a profile on him / her / it. Did someone let their pet loose in the lagoon?;P

Not sure, Bull. All we really know about him is his bar tab is always paid, and he is a good tipper. Anything else is of minimal relevance.

i stopped following the Flyers when we moved to florida circa '75.. but remember watching them win the cup that first time on tv at relatives' house and having people walking across car roofs on the way home, the streets were so nuts in Philly that night..

"Deplane boz, deplane"

as a courtesy to our incoming guests, can we have a pipeline from the brewing area to the Lagoon ? A frosty "N"Sweat Lager is in order after deplane ride....
