What make brass is it ? Like what loads are they shooting ?
Most cops are too much of a group of WIMPS to shoot REAL 10MM.
(Bullman, this does NOT apply to you my friend !)
Was any fired in Glocks ?
That's a great haul in brass, even by MY standards ! Good find.

_The_Shadow
06-23-2009, 17:54
Its probably older brass from when they were actually using 10mm or FBI using their range. Maybe - maybe Not! The Navy Seals used to shoot loads of here at the range near me, I miss getting those.

VN350X10
06-23-2009, 18:00
Well, when first proposed, the SOCOM pistol (H&K Mod.23) was supposed to have been in 10MM.
But the Joint Chiefs shot that one down, settling on a .45ACP +P+ just to avoid introducing another caliber in the supply chain. And it's usable with plain old Hardball if necessary, avaliable in almost any country in the world. Even Russia & China load .45 Hardball !

Too bad the SEALS didn't get the pistol in the real caliber. It's a fantastic pistol in it's own right, but could have been better !

uncle albert

_The_Shadow
06-23-2009, 18:06
I hear you, The Navy Seals were using the HK MP-5 10mm, the fluted chamber left streaks down the sides of the brass.

BTW. I got a response from VLTOT on an e-mail I wrote, it list here in the 10 ring.

VN350X10
06-23-2009, 18:10
Yeah, I've encountered 10MM brass that was sold as "once fired, from a L.E. range"
It was F.B.I. brass from Quantico, out of an MP-10.
Some of it split on the first SIZING, never fired a round !
The MP-10 is also able to be set up in .40 S&W, with a different weight block & spring rate. But the idea of 32 rds. of (basicly) .41 Mag in full squirt gun mode makes me want to wet myself ! But it's a GOOD wet !

Well, I made it back safe and sound, but it was HOT :steamed:drenched in sweat! I did pace my self to get the shooting in, had to towel off ever 5 to 7 rounds.

I'll have to type up the data to post the info, but the pressure was up on the 9x25Dillon rounds, primers flatten and smeared the primer pin hits against the breech face. Enough primer metal wiped into the firing pin hole to cause a misfire, pulled the mag, racked the slide dropped the hammer muzzle down and the debris was cleared for the rest of the shooting. I guess that's how it is working up loads with no data for the powder of choice.

I just finished cleaning two pistols and 5 the barrels for them, repacking the chrony.

Now its time to slip into the Jaccuzzi to clean my bod and wash the day of the sweat off!:shower::drowning:

Well I went and tested yesterday, it was extremely hot, had to constanly towel off.
There was no data for Blue Dot or Power Pistol for the 9x25Dillon, but I worked these up from 357Sig loads.
But here are the results...

9X25 Dillon June 27, 2009 test
S&W 1006 with Bar-Sto barrel w/22# Wolff Recoil Spring
Temps 99 HOT!

Lyman 130.0 gr Soft Cast Devastator HP 0.356” 1.255”
Blue Dot 11.2 gr Winchester LP
Velocity 1342-1367 fps
Primers flatten some, little smear, leading light

Lyman 128.0 gr Soft Cast Devastator HP 0.356” 1.255”
Blue Dot 11.2 gr Winchester LP
Velocity 1343-1373 fps
Primers flat some, little smear, leading light

Zero 121.0 gr JHP 0.356” 1.255”
H-110 14.4 gr CCI 350
Velocity 1280-1335 fps
Primers flat some, little smear

Zero 121.0 gr JHP 0.356” 1.255”
Blue Dot 12.2 gr CCI 350
Velocity 1405-1438 fps
Primers flat some, lot of smear

Zero 121.0 gr JHP 0.356” 1.255”
Power Pistol 10.2 gr CCI 350
Velocity 1592-1620 fps
Primers flat, lot of smear

LEE 122.0 gr Hard Cast TC 0.356” 1.255”
Blue Dot 11.0 gr Winchester LP
Velocity 1340-1525 fps
Primers flat some, little smear, leading very light

For some reason the area around the firing pin strike was being wiped against the breech face, in one of the incident enough primer metal sheared to obstruct the firing pin. This caused one round not to fire, I dropped the magazine out, cleared the chamber, inserted an empty magazine so I could dry fire the pistol pointing downward, this cleared the obstructed fiing pin hole. All other rounds fired without incident.

Readings taken with CHRONY Master F1 @ 8' from first screen.

That's correct, Uncle. If the Dungeon Crew may note.

Plenty of time before the odometer roll 10,000 post party to prep.

The Dungeon Engineering Staff has recently investigated ways to expand NS beer production in the Dungeon for the statistically predicted party consumption values. A six sigma consumption value may strain the limits of our facility capacity, certainly burn through all our our current filtration media, and may require the Dungeon Beer Production Team to utilize the Lagoon Pool for storage, filled with Slushies for temperature control. Plans are still under development. Since we will be putting our usable filtration media to the test, it might not be premature to begin a begging ... uh, donation drive with the sweet ladies for filtration material. The effort will firmly lift and hold filtration media supplies through the celebrations. Just a thought.

VN350X10
06-29-2009, 21:02
Of course the filtration media must be sorted, & therefore seperated.
So we need to delegate staff to hold, lift & seperate the media. In some manner or another.
Does that about sum it up ?

I'm not trying to tell you how to run the Dungeon Engineering Staff or NS beer production in the Dungeon, but the problem is...plans need to be over developed to remedy the situation!

Note for the Dungeon Beer Production Team:
Maybe we could use Fire Apparatus with large tank capacities to hold the necessary amounts of NS, with their high rate of pumping capacity and with the use of inline hose pre-filtration media, the flows should exceed the that of demand from the Dungeon Party goers! Party hardy!

Guests take a dip in beer pool

An Austrian holiday resort is offering guests the chance to swim in a pool containing 42,000 pints of beer.
http://www.ananova.com/images/web/289158.jpg
The Starkenber Beer Myth resort located in and around the medieval castle of Starkenberger in Austria's Tyrol region has filled seven 13ft long pools with the beer.

The management claims that beer baths heal various skin diseases.

However, some guests are said to have enjoyed drinking their favourite brew while swimming in the pools.

Manager Markus Amann, 23, said: "I would rather swim than swallow, as we serve enough of a cold, fresh tapped beer on the bars next to the pools."

Signature says "Mickey Mouse". Huh .. didn't notice that until now.

I'll forward this to the Low Condo Legal Team for their review.

BTW were are in Hurricane season again!

Yes, WE are. :wavey:

Yep! Even though they aren't suppose to take our guns any more, I might need to stash some guns and ammo for emergency service.

P.S. I stay loaded up! Wall to wall ceiling tall! :2gun:

Shadow needs to try one of my proprietary N-Sweat slushies. N-Sweat fresh from the tap served frozen on the half-shell in a mold made from the filtration media. refreshing and debauching and blah-blah-blah good!

Yes, they can be used against you in a court of law too! It is the Balck Box of the vehicle, it could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you did something wrong in the case of a vehicle crash or other incident.

Besides I'm a man and don't ask for directions! He,he,he! :car: :headscratch:

Geesie, are you or susan28 planning a shopping trip this weekend ?
If not, please leave TARDIS sitting near the Lagoon. I'm planning on having a few guests this weekend & they've requested a sight-seeing trip of sorts.
Also, what's the status of the power cells; Since you girls have been using TARDIS more than I, it may be time to check power levels & preform maintence as necessary.
I haven't gotten an emergency beacon signal, so I know the level hasn't reached "Low Critical" as of yet.....:wow:

thanks,

uncle

:ufo:(warmig up TARDIS for an evening run)

Thanks Geesie,I might even run TARDIS thru a car wash while I've got it out.

I've convinced Seven of Nine to be co-host on this run, trying to make a good impression & the Swedish Bikini Team just doesn't get it with a co-ed trip.
Sometimes a bit more discression is required.
I'v got Engineer151515's crew standing by to preform maintence after I get back, since they've got things under control on the N.S. production/distribution lines.

Anythin I need to pick up for you or susan28 while I'm out, just call on the comm. link.

G33, are you familure with Dollywood in Tenn.? They use to have a area that allowed people pay to shoot black powder rifles, last time up there they had since quit the practice. I suppose its a sign of the times or liabilities I guess!

I went up there last year to hopefully see some snow, it did, but we had more here in Louisiana while I was gone, imagine that!
