IMPORTANT 10-RING RESORT FACILITY ANNOUNCEMENT

I thought I would pass this amusing item along to all the 10-Ringers. It is a side effect of the Helen Thomas "All Israelis should go back to where they came from" fracas.

The Concierge Desk in the 10-Ring Resort Lobby is being deluged with requests from Israelis to be relocated to the 10-Ring Resort Facility. It appears we have a considerable following among Israeli shooters, and they figure now is a good time to try for residency status.
Since we are located on the Intrawebs and the Intrawebs is everywhere, this presents all at once both an easy solution and a quandry.

Does this mean that Helen Thomas is going to go back to Lebannon? I'll gladly give her a one way trip with my worm hole generator and I guarantee that I'll send her where the sun shines most brightly. I'll even include a copy of the Old Testament so she can read up on why the Jews left Poland.

Rabbi, perhaps we should incorporate Israel as part of the Lagoon area.
They DO have some excellent beach-front property, & with the large population of 10MM shooters, we could EASILY hold any conquere......er, annexed, that's it, annexed properties as well.

I used to hang around with a time lord and we did just that. We took his Tardis through a worm hole and then he was only six days old when he was on the other side. This was unprecedented, since as we all know, time lords regenerate as fully grown adults with complete scientific knowledge of the laws of the universe. Anyhow, he's seventeen now and he is acquiring knowledge the good old fashioned way by cracking the books in school.

Listen up, 10-Ringers! Something beneficial may come out of the Helen Thomas "Relocate the Israelis" program.

The concierge desk was deluged with requests for relocation consideration by Isrealis who know our party operation and want to be part of it. We now have a new development: Two of those applicants are affiliated with the Mossad. They were so impressed by our setup here that they got permission from their bosses to break cover and make us an unusual offer.

The Mossad controls several of the original Glock 7 porcelain handguns; they use them in their operations when necessary. Their offer: in exchange for occasional Lagoon party privileges for their members, they will let the 10-Ring have one of these precious Glocks on long-term loan! I think this is a superb deal for us, but will defer to the judgement of the fully credentialed 10-Ring Penthouse membership; my transitional status within the 10-Ring prevents my getting cocky.

We await your consideration of this issue.

Might it be worth investigating the use of carbon-fiber/balsa-wood composites in this application?

VN350X10
06-19-2010, 19:56
balsa/carbon composite.......

what are we doing, building a SURFBOARD !

Besides, carbon fiber shows up in an X-ray.

What we need is a mu-metal composite (pronounced moo-metal, but not to be confused with Bullman's Rock group)
Mu-metal was a very early shielding/X-ray & radio wave absorbing material from the areospace programs in the late 50's. Yes, we were working on stealth that long ago.
Unfortunately, it was prone to vibrational cracking/fracture/failure & was dropped from further development.
It is of the same basic family of materials as Monel & Incoly.
So we be best suited to sticking with the ceramic based composite group for further development.
OR we build SURFBOARDS !

_The_Shadow
06-19-2010, 21:38
The clear hy-strength acrylic-ceramic composite is also combined with borosilicate glass that is used in the Pyrex Glass ware...this adds to the heating and cooling properties of the final product. The Octogonal rifled barrels of these newer pistols can handle the sustained fire rate with this material. Trade name "Acryceroborosilly Pyrexglass"

We are experimenting with production of N-Sweat Lager mugs:drink: made from this new composite...there was some intrest in beer-googles too!:suntan:

we could always invite the Silver Surfer to a Lagoon party, have him seduced by the Swedish Bikini Team & just stea....er embezzel his board FOR you.....

things of this nature are no problem for our group.

by the way, TARDIS recycles it's own oil, yes, perpetual motion almost exists...

Appreciate the backup, Unkle. Of course, street cred can be accidentally dissipated if one is not careful. As an example: I own a 35 and a 27 that I have converted to 357 with Lone Wolf barrels. However, I have not divested myself of the original factory barrels. Therefore, it is conceivable that, in a moment of distraction, I might reinstall the original barrel and inadvertantly shoot some of that demeaning F'caliber instead of the noble 10mm which is the only proper caliber for our following. Such a drastic fall from grace would damage my transitional status within the 10-Ring hierarchy; Suze and Twee-Twee would shift into high gear on Chamber Duty if such a relapse were to occur.

VN350X10

Due to rules & such, there are times that shooting the F'caliber is, in fact, necessary.

Well Jesse WAS kind of a folk hero of sorts, to a lot of folks.
Possibly one of the best handgun shots of the old west too. It's said that he could hit a running jack rabbit from horseback with a pistol.

Time to go fire up TARDIS, want to take a run to check out 7-4-1876 & see how folks celebrated then.

Not desirable, mind you, but necessary. And the 27 makes a handy companion pc. to the 29 in some cases. Like having a kid brother tagging along.

I thought about shooting you a PM with this, but then, why don't I just share it with the world. I learned this one at a Mennonite Church Camp in Divide, Colorado. The recipe says it is enough to do 2 1/2 chickens.

1/2 cup of oil

1 cup of vinegar

1/4 cup of water

2 tablespoons salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning

and 1/2 clove of garlic.

And it says you should baste the chicken every 5 to 7 minutes.

MinervaDoe
07-13-2010, 20:48
That looks really good.
Here is my basic rub recipe from "Barbecue Bible: Sauces, Rubs, and Marinades, Bastes, butters and glazes by Steven Raichlin:"
1/4 cup coarse salt
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
3 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

I usually substitute white sugar for at least part of the brown sugar (since the brown sugar clumps). I just sprinkle this on both sides at the beginning of the BBQ.

MinervaDoe
07-13-2010, 20:54
Suppose I extrapolate and combine your recipe with the marinade I just used.

1/2 cup of oil

1 cup of vinegar

1/4 cup of water

2 tablespoons salt

1 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

1 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes

and 9 cloves of garlic.

3/4 cup parsley

or something like that :grill:

Be aware of one thing. Your recipe tripled the fluid used in my original recipe, so I tripled the amounts of spice used in that recipe.

I won't know until I take it for a test drive, but if all the parsley does not get soaked with fluid (with just a little left over) then I've got the fluid portion wrong.

Basically, it's going to be like a big spicey salad dressing.

Actually, Unkle, we can skip the "unbreakable" requirement for Lagoon barware. The Dungeon Financial Crew has figured out a really creative tax dodge on writing off barware breakage on the 10-Ring taxes. The picky 10-Ring types (pardon my redundancy) may therefore choose their libation holders based only on aesthetic considerations, rather than practicality issues. The Dung Cru backs this tax dodge with this pledge: If the tax writeoffs on expended barware ever fail to cover the purchase price of said barware, the Dungeon will cover the shortfall out of our own embezzlement revenue!

VN350X10

Rabbi......

I'm not in the least concerned about the breakage write-off, Rather, my concern is the SPILLAGE of our valuable "N"Sweat Lager !
Not even the shrewdest has figured a way to write off spilled libations !
To get that thru the tax code, we would need to BUY several congressrats.....er congressmen. We dare not do this before Nov. as there WILL be a LARGE turnover in the hired help at that time & we don't want to waste any of our hard embezz....er...that is..... earned, yes that's it, HARD EARNED monies.

Hey, gang! What's up!?
Wabbit!
It's Wabbi.
Oh. But I'm hunting wabbits.
Yeah, both of our time machines are loaned out and we're not sure when they will be back. I'm using the flash from my 10mm to thaw out my beers before I open them, but two out of three beers are too close to the muzzle flash and they pretty much just disappear.
My feet are getting cold and we need some sort of Penthouse organizational mandate to keep this from happening again.

Okay, I get it. I'm back on admin duty until the logistics headaches are resolved. The only timeout I will have to take during this amelioration effort will be a Chamber Session. This month I have (again) failed to expend the assigned quota of the 45ACP ammo I still hold from the days before I acquired my 10MM Glocks, and must therefore endure the fitting punishment for so profaning the ideals of the noble 10-Ring during my transitional status within the organization.

If you try to rescue me from this punishment, I will mess up your logistics beyond repair!

I can take the .45 ACP off your hands. :whistling:
I need another 400 rounds to get me through the current PPC season.

If you need anybody to help with MS Project, I'm a whiz.

... and FYI, the Orion girls came back early last night and I am safely ensconced at home with all my fingers and toes intact (not to mention a ton of frozen beer).

VN350X10
08-09-2010, 20:16
In that case, send just 1 of the Orion girls in the HoG to pick me up.
Together we should be able to resolve the logistics of the frozen beer(s).
Since I had nothing to grill & amuse the bevy of ladies with, they started talking amongst themselves, in one of those tongues that's only understood by females of the specis.....some kind of reference to Hippoprah & Wendy Williams....I was confused within 30 seconds & fell asleep !

But at least now Rabbi can get things straightened out.

IMPORTANT 10-RING FACILITY SCHOLARLY RESEARCH QUESTION

Steve Slater, the Jetblue flight attendant who is getting all the attention on the news and net, grabbed a couple bottles of beer before he got out of the plane on an evac chute.

Inquiring minds want to know: What kind of beer did he grab?

A minor detail, perhaps, but important to the 10-Ring Facility Resort faithful.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him get his own reality t.v. show. Then, the media would be abuzz with a number of copycat flight attendant stunts, which finally culminates in an unfortunate midflight deployment of an evac. chute which results in several fatalities.

Legal Disclaimer:
We have contacted your ISP. Electronic Mind Control Waves are beaming down the copper to your location as you read this. You will experience an irresistable urge to tap your feet. Go with it. You may start rummaging through your stuff looking for loud Hawaiin shirts (look outside to see if it is snowing and then, even if it is, go with it). Keep an eye out for time machines, interstellar craft or tele portals. They may be cleverly disguised as everyday appliances: phone booths, refrigerators, delivery vans, vending machines or even main frame computers. Be selective. Don't pick the first one to come along. Things like wood chippers, lawn mowers, and golf ball washers are never used as time machines, interstellar craft or tele portals. Anyone who tells you they are is not your friend.

After that, they get training from the Swedish Bikini Team; If they pass THAT, they will undergo one-on-one training from either G33 or susan28, depending upon their innermost "talents".
After that, they will re-take the Penthouse under their OWN terms.
