Would you be laughing if you loaned money to a loser whose only solution is to print the money it is going to use to pay you back?

I didn't think so.

I offer a clarification of my earlier post.

US Treasury debt is still strong investment grade, so I doubt China is sweating getting its 1.2 trillion repaid. What China DOES get, as their US paper rolls over, is an extra 1/4 to 1/2 percent APR on their reinvested money. Even a minor interest rate increase really adds up when the base amount is a trillion plus. China gets to count additional income; we get to pay it. If Mao Zedong is anywhere where he can track what is going on, he would kick himself for not taking China's economy on its current private enterprise shtick when HE was running things!

I ask forgiveness for my breach of protocol in making consecutive posts, but an important administrative issue must be addressed.

It has become my honor to be monkey-DNA poster on two consecutive pages. This, of course, is desirable for ME, but in this instance it creates complications. I am coming off (in a matter of speaking) two Chamber sessions, one for the LAST monkey-page spot and one for my temerity in correcting Twee-Twee's pronoun usage. Such a double punishment session is sufficient in the short run for any reasonable 10-Ringer (pardon my inconsistency). I therefore wish to announce that THIS Chamber punishment session will be deferred and, if necessary, be redirected to a needy 10-Ringer of Twee-Twee's choosing. So start sucking up to HER, cappishe?!

Your post is incoherent, but it lacks the marvelously incoherent status needed to achieve the upper echelons of 10-Ring incoherency. We believe you may have made the classic mistake of posting to this thread while sober. We suggest that, if our theory is correct, you remedy this condition.

Important detail: the standard embezzlement rate is 39%, not 38%. The last time the rate was that low was when Twee-Twee asked me in a particularly convincing manner.

Walmart DOES have its uses. It gives the common-rabble-9-and-40-crowd something to occupy its time, thus freeing up the exalted 10-Ring faithful for more worthy shopping effort.

That's because Walmart sells plenty of 9 & 40 but it doesn't sell 10mm ammo, therefore 10-Ring need not bother!:dunno:

Hmmmmm ... an interesting possibility ... Perhaps I underestimated Twee-Twee's administrative finesse. Perhaps the intensive bombastic shopping trips she undertakes all the time are just a cover for subtly nuanced behind-the-scenes manipulation of the proclivities of the easily-influenced 10-Ring mentality (pardon my redundancy). Damn! Now I may have to rethink my entire outlook on life, reality, the universe, and everything. Bring my limo around ... Whoops! ... I mean, get my Yugo fixed and ready for me to drive myself down to tonight's Lagoon blowout ... Whoops again! ... to the Dungeon Historical Research Division Facility, so that I may further investigate this possible situation.

Gilligan (Bob Denver) was arrested in 1998 for receiving 30g of pot allegedly sent to him by Mary Ann (Dawn Wells), and his checkbook showed suspicious payments to her. He claimed it was from some crazy fan and he got off with probation.
Several more grams of marijuana and some pariphenalia were also seized from his West Virginia compound (anything more than a trailer in WV is called a compound).
He later died of throat cancer, but everybody knows marijuana is harmless.:faint:

IMPORTANT 10-RING FACILITY ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUE for your consideration

Selected gung-ho 10-Ringers (pardon my redundancy, even if it is in this case commendable) have proposed sending a quantity of full-power 10mm protection ammo to England; such a shipment would be placed at the disposal of authorities attempting to maintain order. Rather than interrupt the Lagoon partying with logistics details, the Dungeon admin types agreed to assume all boring administrative work associated with such an effort.

How would you Penthouse types wish to proceed on such an idea?

MinervaDoe
08-11-2011, 15:53
How do you Penthouse types want to proceed with such an idea?
Training!! I believe that the 10mm is a round that requires proper training to utilize. I think the rank and file would be better off with a 9mm, until such time as they can qualify with a 10mm.
Otherwise, we will go through the same kind of circular thinking that brought our own FBI to file one fourth of the 10mm cartridge off and invent the .40S&W.

samurairabbi

Hmmmm ... A valid line of thought. I suggest one change, though. Forcing the skirmish line to use 9mm would inflict cruel/abusive conduct (on the authorities, not the rioters). I propose putting aside our distain for the forty-stunted-and-wishful round, and supply .40s&w to England as a stopgap measure until training on the 10mm has been accomplished.

Might I suggest that we do, indeed, help equip equip our English brohers and sisters with 10mm from the onset. However we must help them acclimate to the firepower in several phases.

Phase 1 ammo would be "FBI loads" from American Eagle. Phase two would step up the oomph a bit with UMC. Getting warmer.

Phase 3 would be a shipment of Double Tap ammo for medium-warm duty.

For the elite squads, we could send a selection of The Shadow's home cooked screamers. The operators must be proven, however, to be bestowed such an honor. Almost the same level of responsibility as possessing the keys to the nuclear football.

You are prudent in retaining your stock of such superior ammo as a hedge against the SHTF aftermath. Besides, the Brits can always dip into their supply of 120mm APDS as a passable substitute for the full power 10mm loads.

Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. <o:p></o:p>

We have worked hard, raised our children, worshipped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.<o:p></o:p>

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam . We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America , we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America , and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America . <o:p></o:p>

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

It was the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress.<o:p></o:p>

You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies." You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Cool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade."<o:p></o:p>

Permit me to offer counsel which may eliminate your discomforture.

A six-inch barrel has a truly special significance within the 10-Ring pantheon. With a 6" barrel installed on a 20, it becomes possible to, even with certain marginally (at best) substandard commercial 10mm loads, to achieve the magnificiently legendary 200gr/1200fps standard that constitutes the mystical holy grail of 10-Ring thinking. This is a considerable achievement, promoting certain "degraded" ammunition back into the full 10mm nirvana.

The magic six inch length goes from there to assume significance in ... other areas.

Oh BTW samurairabbi writes magnificiently legendary 200gr/1200fps standard that constitutes the mystical holy grail of 10-Ring thinking.

I have accomplished this with the S&W 1006 5" barrel using Blue Dot and even Power Pistol with the Hornady 200 grain XTP's and should be able to get there with IMR 800X like others have.

About the old artistic one-liner: This is in regards to Obamy! It might not be about the size of the pencil ... but the use of the eraser!

Of course, the new generation is creative enough to come up with new material. The WTF references, to my knowledge, were not generally recognized with their "hidden" meaning until the 21st century.

Important 10-Ring Ecological notice :

We must find out from Bullman if he was experimenting with some new 10MM loadings earlier today; This could account for all of the seismic activity on the Eastern Seaboard.

The quake was rated at 5.8; that sounds a little weak for the usual Bullman 10mm loading.

There may have been a discrepency in the actual location of the epicenter, or the recording station was quite a bit farther away than originally reported.
You're right, however, 5.8 IS a bit on the weak side.

That weakness of the shock might be attributed to energy from the 10mm round being unusually diverted into spacial rift disorientation effect. If so, then Washington DC may have averted an epic disaster because of this seemingly random variation.

Not to change the subject, or that it matters...
Boudreaux suddenly quit drinking, took a bath, quit chasing women, quit his poker games and stopped laying around.

He started cutting the grass around the church, even painted it and was faithful to be first to attend on Sundays!

Father Thibodeaux asked him what caused this wonderful change.

Boudreaux explained, "I heard "Crisis in the Gulf" and if He's dat close, I wanna be good to go."

The less you bet, the more you lose when you win.
but,
The less you bet, the less you lose when you lose.
AND, since the odds are heavily stacked in favor of the house, we know that you are far more likely to lose than to win.
I would think that any good embezzler would know the odds of winning, losing, getting caught, or just have a good feel for the actuary tables in the big game of life.
Stopped the action at the table did you? I'll bet the eye in the sky counted the hairs on your head and the freckles on your ears for that one. Who says you don't live dangerously. When they have their professional muscle 'discreetly' follow me, I like to get right next to them so I look like I have bodyguards. But, that's just me.

Permit me to tell the full story.

The dealier was shuffling up the 6-deck shoe when I dropped that line. She started laughing so hard, she could not continue the shuffle. Over comes the large grim-faced pit boss asking "What's going on here!" The dealier tried to tell him what I said, could not stop laughing long enough to do so, and finally motioned to me to say it to the pit boss. So I delivered the "The less you bet, the more you lose when you win." The pit boss paused a moment, actually SMILED, and walked away. The goons were never called in.

He was burly and authoritative ... but then, by time-honored casino tradition, if you can make a pit boss smile, he forfeits any claim to being able to intimidate you! Even if he calls in the goons, he will know those goons are deep down smiling at his discomforture.
