If I'm on their payroll, does that mean I get to slam people's hands in a drawer? Do I get to kneecap somebody?

And what's up with the White House demoting Daley?
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/11/09/bill-daley-unhappy-camper-why-he-was-demoted-at-the-white-house.html
Unless Daley is behind it, that sounds like Obama is getting his family ready to go the route of the Kennedys.

this is Washington, and nobody gives up power willingly, so here’s what happened, according to people who know the players. Daley was always miscast. He’s a Chicago businessman, accustomed to being in charge and impatient with Congress. He got much of the blame for the debt-ceiling debacle (http://www.thedailybeast.com/videos/2011/07/28/bill-daley-debt-ceiling.html) last summer that brought the government to the brink of default. While that took its toll, it was not fatal, says a Daley friend. “What was fatal: the accumulated weight of not moving the needle.” In other words, with President Obama’s approval rating stuck in the low 40s,

The result: Daley was not happy.

That's the Chicago way.

Listen up, you 10-Ring miscreants! (pardon my redundancy) The Dungeon admin types have decided to follow the example of the klutzy NBA owners (again, pardon my redundancy) by getting severe with our demands.

If the 10-Ringers refuse to accede to the Dungeon demands, we will lower the embezzlement rate to 38.21%! This demand is NON-negotiable! ... (Oh, Rabbi) ... What! ... (We think you may have misphrased that unltimatum.) ... How so? ... (The NBA owners threatened to lower the PLAYERS' revenue share. You have just threatened to RAISE the 10-Ring share. That doesn't make sense.) ... Okay, let me run through how things REALLY work around here. If we threatened to embezzle MORE, the 10-Ringers would just shrug it off as a bit of bureaucratic jockeying. When we threaten to REDUCE our cut of the take, they will start thinking about what we are trying to pull. This would get them mentally off balance, and might even start them thinking about what vital administrative tasks we would cut back under the tightened financial restraints. This would get them REALLY worried, and therefore they will go along with whatever shtick we want to pull this week. ... (Hmmmm ... grotesquely incoherent, yet entirely plausible. Let us know how it works out.)

That sort of sounds like the last time I had a couple of Irish Coffees to perk me up after a night of rabble rousing. :fred: It was 1987, and the old Sunol Brewery Depot was still around. The curving train tracks came so close to the bar that when I walked out on the back porch, I thought Gabriel was coming to take me away in a Diesel Electric locomotive. :nailbiting: It occurred to me that a little caffeine properly blended with some Irish courage might be a good idea. :tequila:

Hmmmm ... Her Majesty seems amused by my witticism. This pleases me. It also reinforces Dungeon morale in our confrontation with the 10-Ringers concerning our non-negotiable demands. We resolutely maintain our defiance. Of course, our big advantage over the Occupy movement is that we actually IMPROVE the operation against which we are demonstrating; we hope the 10-Ring will cut us a bit of slack during the confrontation in recognition of this.

Actually, Shadow, the Dungeon Embezzlement Pro's offer you their assistance in destroying audit trails when ripping off the 10-Ring cash flow. If political officials don't quit putting this on the Law Enforcement's back, for doing their jobs, for minimal pay and then wreck their reputations and retirements of crap like this it will come back to bite them in their assinine careers. also it will give the demonstrator groups a lack of fear for retaliation or punishment due to their actions!

The occupiers need to understand that they are the one percenters: the bottom feeders, the leeches, and the non-productive masses supported by the producers.

Their goals are not clear. What do they want? It depends on who you see interviewed.
If they want to rebel against corporations, let them boycott.
If they want better wages, let them start their own businesses.
If they want to fix the government, they should run for office.
But vandalizing public property and private businesses is not going to accomplish anything. Pitching a tent and living in their own feces only provides me with hours of entertainment. I say bring on the dissentary, the snow and frostbite, and the men with the pepper spray and handcuffs.

That reminds me of a time that I went to a Grateful Dead show in Las Vegas. The unwashed hippies had been camping by the thousands in the Las Vegas heat for several days. It was a typical hot Vegas summer day with tens of thousands of people crammed into the stadium.

I am a fan of the music, but not the scene. Did you find it ironic that most of the people gathered around Dead shows were staunch anti-capitalists, yet so many of them were selling crap?

'Kind' veggie burritos
Beads, necklaces and bracelets

I live in commie-fornia. It is so typical of the liberal fascists to benefit from the capitalist system while their mouth spouts socialist philosophy.
Whether its an unbathed hippie bottom feeder living eating the food created by somebody elses hard work or a cubicle dweller who drives their $60,000 dollar Mercedes to their million dollar home after work, they all fail to see that they benefit from a capitalist system that allows them a good standard of living and freedom of speech.

I'm going to prepare a real traditional Thanksgiving meal.
I'm doing crablegs & a venison roast on the grill.

Think about this.....
The tribe that saved the Pilgrims tails were coastal dwellers.
Wild turkey is NOT indigenious to the Mass. bay area, but whitetail deer is.
They also ate fish & other seafood, as could be caught.
THEREFORE, I'm preparing a proper traditional feast.

Don't know just HOW it happened, but the turkey producing people got their marketing folks involved & now we celebrate w/turkey.

Naaaah, they came up through someone else's operation. If the Dungeon crew had had any part in the conspiracy, America's traditional Thanksgiving meal would be brisket!

Back in the 50's, the comedian Stan Freberg did a classic sketch about how turkey became the traditional holiday meal. At the first Thanksgiving, they had intended to serve roast EAGLE!. But the cook got the wrong bird into the oven, and nobody noticed the switch until too late to correct the error. Such is how many traditions actually get started!

I can sense a possible slide into consideration of linguistic differences at the mini-micro-dialect level. I suggest we convene a Summary Plenipotentiary Tribunal to consider this important aspect of reality. Besides, it would be a useful change of pace from the standard-issue raucous inebriated debauched 10-Ring revelry.

Permit this LSMPS(bbb)DP to emphasize an important distinction between the COLLECTIVE 10-Ring identity and the INDIVIDUAL 10-Ringer identity. You are correct in your assertion that AM/PM is meaningless to the 24/7/365 collective 10-Ring operation. However, the chronically hung-over INDIVIDUAL 10-Ringer (pardon my redundancy) has an important interest in maintaining a proper AM/PM orientation to life. This divergence between the collective and individual 10-Ring identities must be acknowledged, lest we fall into the ol' "Which is more relevant, the group or the individual?" philosophical doubletalk trap.

Decades ago, Ray Bradbury made an illuminating observation in the book "Fahrenheit 451". Most censorship imposed on expression is NOT imposed by the government; it is done by PRIVATE parties. Private efforts may not have legal authority to prevent expression, but they can make it so inconvenient to express unpopular thoughts that it can become expedient to give up the effort to express them.

Permit me the temerity of indicating that the anti-B-word exclusion is not applicable to NON-10-Ring applications. The Flamingo Union Local #69, while a prominent aspect of the 10-Ring Resort experience, is nevertheless outside the jurisdiction of Dungeon linguistic and administrative activity.

Mostly we just breed a lot. Bunch of chicks following what their daddies do. Over the last ten years, five generations have added substantially to the flock.

I am a bit curious as to what would be so special about number 69. Isn't it just a number that follows 68, but before 70?

I regret to advise that the Joint 10-Ring Penthouse/Dungeon Administrative Protocols preclude my answering your question. The Penthouse types reserve consideration of salacious and risque items to themselves. Dungeon types can assume such responsibility ONLY upon a formal vote by a convened sober quorum of the 10-Ring membership; you know damn well THAT ain't gonna' happen!

I think it is still politically correct in the Netherlands to use grease paint to do a "black face." It hasn't been done much in the U.S. since Al Jolsen. As for the white folks. Many Aruban's are from the Netherlands. A large percentage are indiginous and are South American in appearance, and like much of the carribean, there are some people of African descent who were brought in as laborers.
But, if you look at Sinterklaas helpers (as if the link were still there) you can see from the natural skin left around the eyes that their faces are painted.

As if any of us 10-Ringers were of a coherent state of mind to note the mathematical glitch. But now that you mention it, I feel like I should erupt with some genuine spontaneously contrived outrage at the insult.

Ooh. That just reminded me of something. Next year is a leap year. I also have a major milestone (remember that it is not polite to ask a gentleman his age) birthday later in the year. That means that I get one extra day before starting a new decade.

Yeah, somewhere along the way, we all got so open minded that a little body paint offended us. For some reason the whole Sinterklaas thing is on a different time table in the Carribean. I figure some Dutch politician gets a paid vacation out of it, then comes home for Christmas.

I'd love to see an analysis of how much productivity and GNP is lost due to this knee jerk reaction to ENRON.

Oh, look at this. Someone took a crack at it. It costs on average $1 million more for a small firm to do an audit now.

http://www.foley.com/news/news_detail.aspx?newsid=1270

a significant shift occurred for the first time as lost productivity skyrocketed and the overwhelming majority of public companies reported that the Sarbanes-Oxley Act had impacted administrative expenses “a great deal.” The study found lost productivity costs soared 556 percent to $1.1 million in 2004 from $160,000 in 2003 for companies with annual revenue under $1 billion.

The heck with oyster crackers, grilled Louisiana oysters on the half shell.
Garlic & hot sauce butter drizzled over oysters on half shell, sprinkled with romano and parmesan cheese, grill till cheeses and butter starts to brown on the edges.
Sliding the grill oyster and jucies into your mouth, then with toasted french bread slivers about 1/2" thick to wipe up the remaining jucies from the shells.

I got to go! Done made myself hungry!
