Well played. Well played. But clearly a violation of the established rules.

Your compliment is appreciated.

Your claim of established rules is puzzling; would you approve if I violated un-established rules? But then, we have an opporational doctrine controlling Dungeon administrative conduct:

We must have rules! ... If we don't have rules, then we can't have any fun breaking the rules.

Your proposed counter to my proposal has potential. I suggest reducing the quart of baby oil to a pint; too much reflective glare off the participants might reduce the perception quotient enjoyed by the observers. Just a thought.

Since to deviate, one must, by definition, be a deviant, I doubt if anyone will care.

Who has to search for someone that cares? Is that like the guy who roamed the four corners of the earth looking for one honest man? I wonder how many times he was mugged, and or, robbed. :exercise: Is this rhetorical, just for the sake of it?

Inquiring minds want to know; it might affect the embezzlement action.

But, for any micro brewery that has its equipment on display, we should definitely invent a giant PCP apparatus. Maybe we could name it the frother-nizer or something.

We can go one better and have another variant for any month with a syllable in its name.

Oohhhh. Everclear. That reminds me of parties when I was younger. Swampwater in the bathtub. A luxurious concoction of whatever fruit and whatever juice and just a trifle too much everclear. Lots of fun earlier in the night and lots of vomit later.

Everclear in the bathtub poses an interesting logistical situation in a one bedroom apartment. People tend to congregate in or near the bathroom to either refill said libation, or to deposits the resultant processed residue. I tried not to think about how much splashover weewee might have sullied the punch.

Sort of a biological life cycle. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. It converts to urine, and then swampwater and back to urine again. And maybe later: puke. Who knows, perhaps some of that found its way back to the punch again and started the cycle anew.

no the deer didn't call in air support.......it was so small that ......well lets put it this way, if it still had spots, it would have looked about right. My neighbor's hound dawg is bigger !
But at least I did get away for a week, so that helps.
And none of the other guys in the pool got a deer, let alone with a handgun, so the pot jumps another $20.00 for next year. There are 4 of us, & all have been trying for a deer w/a handgun since IL made it legal. If I'm not mistaken, the pot should be about $160.00 for next year, going to the first one of us who gets a deer with a handgun. Cars don't count, one of the guys has 3 that way since we started the bet!
The tiny one that I let pass would have been an EZ shot, only 20 yds. or so.

Like a true Cubs fan, "Wait till next year".

Uncle, I can sympothize about brings down a smaller deer...I did take one at 76 lbs a few years back with a muzzle loader, end of season. This was due to the people running the lease I was in, they asked us to drop out of the lease so they could bring their family into the small lease. My money and my other 3 family members' money were what kept the lease afloat...so I got my money's worth before I left!

They themselves actually had a saying of "if its brown, its down"...

My bud Brian has a 22 Ac. tract of woods, but it's surrounded by almost 850Ac. of farms that we have the priviledge of hunting. Brian is a serious coyote hunter, 2 of the farms raise sheep, so they LOVE him !
And there are 8 of us that hunt the total acerage, 2 are bowhunters, so it's not a bad setup.
We (combined) have taken 7 deer so far, with another weekend of muzzleloading season left. Everybody but myself has filled a tag this year so far.
Feral hogs are a problem, but we haven't taken any yet.....they have been spotted while combining & on game cameras thou. And no bag limit on hogs. Wish it wasn't a 4+ hr. drive to get there !

Actually, Tater, the newly published (and royally fouled up) NBA schedule may have raised the bar for commending conduct on THIS website. All NBA teams must play at least one "three games in three days" sequence; some teams must play THREE of those sequences. Following their example, perhaps we should withhold endurance compliments until the NBA example has been matched. Unjust, perhaps, but the world CAN be a cruel place.

I concur with your thinking. Unfortunately, the nba DOES have a following among the common-rabble-9-and-40-shooter crowd. Comparison between OUR endurance and the basketball league endurance is therefore inevitable, even if unjustified. In a sense, we 10-Ringers must keep up our image in comparison, even though this necessity is unjust.

That is pretty much what the Chicago PD did for the Blues Brothers movie. They sold a bunch of worn-out marked cars to the movie producers, and got a really healthy price for them. The producers were ecstatic with the deal, too; all they had to do to the cars was install roll cages to protect the stunt drivers. I imagine the Terminator producers and LAPD did something comparable, and the producers didn't even have to pop for roll cages!

Yo, Unkle! Blago's lawyers just pulled a cute move that elicits the admiration of the Dungeon Legal Team!

Blago, of course, just began serving his sentence for his tampering conviction. His lawyers have signed him up for the prison's drug rehab program. Now, since Blago, in the last three years, has no evidence of any drug abuse problems, why sign him up? Because successful completion of a prison drug rehab program can knock at least a year off your sentence in Illinois!

The state plans to challenge his use of that loophole in HIS case, but the minds that could even come up with such a dodge deserve some measure of admiration.

The abruptness of your re-appearance did create some uproar within the 10-Ring Resort Facility partying operation. No. Reduce the embezzlement rate to 29% (in honor of the GREAT G29) and say; "Merry Christmas, Ten Ring!!!". People will be so shocked that such a honorable move has taken place that they will go wild with partying (and spending, of course, and provide a tsunami of revenue thru volume sales) which will ultimately net a higher profit despite the lower rate.

THIRTY-NINE POINT ZERO-EIGHT PERCENT!?!?!!! Have i been tied up, drugged, blindfolded, and "kept" for THAT long??? Wow, GREAT vacation!!!

Oh, btw, i think i saw Geezie and Mongo fly by in the Tardis when i was blindfolded. They had BIG smiles on their faces and had the Borg hot after them. But, there was a lot of smoke coming out of the back of the Borg ship and i heard a lot of coughing sounds. Smoke smelled like burning yard waste, too..... frigg'n wierd... but funny... OH... and the Borg ship had a weird round logo on the side that reminded me of the new Pepsi logo. What is up with that?

OK 10-Ringers, listen up: Uncle, I have a plan.

We need to get to the Manolo Blahnik shoe store and somehow convince them to have a sale. I know, that fine shoe store NEVER has a sale. I will trust The Shadow to find a way to "convince" them that they need to have a sale.

Geesie will no doubt show up with her Amex Black card. She should be distracted for a minimum of 1 hour. The hard part is that Mongo will be faithfully stationed to keep an eye on Tardis. We must cause a distraction to lure him from his post.

He has a weakness for Reese's Pieces. We will leave a trail of Reece's Pieces that he will follow around the corner - albeit cautiously (if this sounds like a certain 1980's Spielberg smash hit, well, that's because it worked for E.T. and it will work for Mongo). Uncle knows how to operate TARDIS as well as any of us. This will give him just enough time to snag the keys and take it for a spin.

We can return TARDIS at the same point in time/space and Geesie will never know the difference.

It is a risky plan but I think it will work.

The Lagoon Girls are farrrrr from 'undesirable'. As soon as i recover and heal up a bit i'm going back for more... yeah, baby!

Embezzelment is like taxation. If you lower the tax rate it actually increases tax revenue by allowing people to make and have more money... and so there is something to take. If people are not making any money, there will be nothing to take.

Rebates are interesting and kinda fun. People give you their money for nothing, you use it to make more money with, then you give back the rebate and keep the money you made off using the "free money". It's really just a free loan.

Getteth not thy bowels in an uproar, Unkle. Tazz is clearly operating under "unusual" influences which render him in a condition of diminished (or enhanced ... not exactly sure which) capacity. Therefore the dungeon's embezzelment rate may suffer as a result :dunno:

We up the rate AND increase the volume..:wow:....THAT'S the way to make money !:tongueout:

Nope... doesn't work. If you take too much money then there is not enough money for operating expenses and growth and everything crumbles. If you want money, the best way to get it is to create or make something and sell it. To do that you need capital. Capital comes from profit. Profit is the same as money in a savings account. A concept that doesn't OCCUPY some peoples minds... hahaha...

samurairabbi
12-17-2011, 19:49
Embezzelment is like taxation. If you lower the tax rate it actually increases tax revenue by allowing people to make and have more money... and so there is something to take. If people are not making any money, there will be nothing to take.

Interesting ... Tazz, I never really figured you for a Laffer Curve type. Oh well, down here in the Dungeon, we cherish the opportunity to expand our horizons.

I want to feed some of the 'homeless' but not at all all of them. People don't realize how many of the 'homeless' are really just child molesters that got let out of prison but should still be in there as they are sure to reoffend. I wish somebody would do a study so we can know just how many there really are out there. People that really need help should get it, but people like child molesters should be done away with. Piss on them.

Getteth not thy bowels in an uproar, Unkle. Tazz is clearly operating under "unusual" influences which render him in a condition of diminished (or enhanced ... not exactly sure which) capacity. The pro's from Dover down here in the Dungeon have the situation covered. Come to think of it, his brainstorm about reducing the embezzlement rate may actually provide us some good PR for getting through the holiday accounting period ... hmmmmm ... Gotta go! If the pot is deep enough, the frog can't jump out.

Now there you go making me hungry again... You Southerners know how to eat. My Southern wife keeps me pretty well fed. I am one of the few northwesterners that enjoys a steady diet of home-cooked gumbo, etouffee, creole, jambalaya, shrimp Diane, biscuits and gravy... oh and I can't forget grits. My kids LOVE grits. Their friends don't know what a grit is.

One of these years, we have pledged to ourselves to take a driving vacation to the South and eat our way from New Orleans to Savannah.

You can't convince some of them of that. We have a lot of wrecks due to furry brown suicide traffic hazards. You meet one of them at 90 and it tends to be a pretty bad day all the way around. And there are always those who will try to dodge it at 90, which is usually the ones you end up planting. Sadly, read in the news the other day about a Texas A&M football player who tried to dodge a buzzard and went head on into a truck and died......

But.. I wish I could rework the county code a little to funnel some dough into the dungeon coffers..... you know to supplement things ;)

At the risk of stepping outside the accepted behavior protocol governing the Dungeon types within the 10-Ring hierarchy, I am forced to agree with Unkle's judgement on this one. This LSMPS(bbb)DP humbly grovels, pleads, begs, and implores you to forgive me for misunderstanding the intent of your original post. Normally, we would be quicker on the uptake for comprehending a marginally coherent 10-Ringer's post (pardon my redundancy).

This misunderstanding stems from a style difference. We Dungeon admin types actually savor intricate convolutions in following the post flow within the 8:40 thread. We had an interesting one here in Indy yesterday. A guy with an armed felony history tried to rob a Kroger store here in town. He stuck a "hard object" in the back of a worker and forced her to take him into the store office. The shift manager was in that office. The shift manager was packing. Several shots were heard by witnesses. At the end of the "exchange", the perp was on the ground with a head wound; nobody else was injured. The perp later died of his wound at the hospital. There is a lot of talk in the media about the manager's "violation of company policy on employee firearms on the premises".

If the Lagoon culinary operation needs a shift manager in its grocery store, let's keep HIM in mind.

I like the scorecard, too. I'll bet the thugs will give that store a wide berth for the next few weeks.

The financial cards are, I think, stacked against the corporate types acting reasonably in this case. Corporate knows this:

If an employee is killed ON THE JOB by a non-employee, it becomes a Workers' Comp case; the worst that can happen to the company FINANCIALLY is an increase in its Workers' Comp rate. If an employee on the job kills a non-employee, it MAY end up as an expensive liability rap. This financial imbalance usually means a company will prefer to require its employees to be unarmed. Such is life when financial considerations rule.

May common sense prevail !

The "morning line" here seems to indicate the manager will NOT be charged; the prosecutor's office is doing its due-diligence review of the case, but it sounds like it will be ruled justifiable.

The corporate action concerning the manager is the one up for grabs. It is easier for the corporation to invoke the ol' "employee firearms create too many complications" shtick in dealing with the situation. This is not fuzzy left-wing thinking, either; it is cheaper for them to deal with a possible employee death at the hands of a criminal than it is to fight a civil action by a non-employee injured by gunfire from an employee. The political Right is as capable of distorting doctrine as the political Left.

While the case may not go to criminal court, it will probably end up in civil court. The lawer's are sure to push the perp's family for some of the pie & crust!

What we really need in this country would be a FEDERAL law that states that a person, involved in a criminal activity, that is hurt or killed in the process of BREAKING THE LAW will have (including relatives or heirs) NO RECOURSE financially or otherwise against the person or other entity that may have inflicted the death/injury involved.
In other words, your fault, you suffer the consequenses !:tongueout:

Hell, maybe I should run for office using this as a platform. I know that I'd get the vote of honest citizens & crime victims.
And since convicted felons can't vote.....and anybody that raises an objection, I could claim that they were in FAVOR of crime/criminals...

I just might be on to something here !:dunno:

time for more thought on this.....:wow:

I can say I agree with that, and I'd vote for someone on the basis of that platform...However the bleeding heart liberals would turn the criminal into a saint and the person trying to defend themselves into the criminal!

Criminal acts should be just cause to forfeit their rights!~

This one won't make it to civil court. Based on initial witness statements about the number of shots fired, the perp was armed with a firearm; the "hard object" he stuck in the worker's back will probably turn out to be a handgun. Since the manager was acting in an employee capacity during the incident, even if he is later fired, the Kroger company would be a party to any lawsuit, and Kroger can afford a quality legal team.

The presence of a firearm in the perp's possession, and the depth of the Kroger financial resources for a defense, would make this one difficult pickings for even an aggressive legal attack.

HMMMMM.......

Looks like we're back to the Christmas Bonus for the gentleman !

At the least, I'll bet that the employee that was forced into the office comes up with a nice plate of cookies.

Everyone involved has lawyered up. However, the manager's name has been mentioned in the morning paper; I imagine he will be unable to pay for a drink in any bar that an Indiana GT'er happens to occupy.

The Dungeon Admin types will assume the burden of keeping the 10-Ring faithful informed of any developments in this situation. In the meantime, we should return to our usual raucous inebriated debauched revelry down in the Lagoon; continuity is important in savoring life.

well, we ARE fast approaching Amatuer Night, er, that is, New Year's Eve, so if nothing else, an inventory report from the Engineering group on current status of "N"Sweat Lager stock on hand should be forthcoming.
As we haven't heard any production figures lately, either we have too much on hand (NOT possible) or we are in a near disaster state of not enough (more likely).
Can the responsible (please forgive my obvious blunder with this group)party please report ?

Permit me to offer reassurance, Unkle. Three newly commissioned super tankers will not be hauling crude oil until AFTER new year's day.

would STILL like to hear from head of engineering group....
but I did wonder at the expense of the necessary quantity of stainless steel sheet in a food-approved grade.

Understood, Unkle. Eng15etc will report the moment he gets back from his surreptitous Lagoon partying session ... Whoops! ... I mean, from his important logistics and production surveys.
