Really? No April fools related posts from the 10-ring crowd?

I received this one from the U.S.S. Hornet museum berthed in Alameda.

Pearl Harbor
Bound!

After years of speculation we are happy to announce the
relocation of the USS Hornet Museum to Honolulu, Hawaii. The ship will be
berthed astern of the USS Missouri Museum ship and not far from the USS Arizona
Memorial (see the proposed mooring photo below). The exact date for the towing
and arrival have yet to be finalized but the intention is to have Hornet
safely moored in her new home by this time next year.

Our
CEO, Randall Ramian, said that the negotiations for the move have been long and complex and had to be kept confidential. "Now that we have a signed agreement I am really looking forward to making this move a success!"

The Hornet will be moored just aft of the USS Missouri Museum at the south-east edge of Ford Island. Quite fittingly the road along the shore at that spot is Hornet Drive.

Several of the current staff members are absolutely giddy with anticipation. Our CFO, Ray Camino is from Hawaii and has family there. When asked about her reaction to the move all Ray said was, "Pupule hau'oli!!".

Given the smile on her face we take that to mean she was
happy.

Rick Thoms, our Air Group Ops Director used to live on Maui and will be moving from Reno (his current hometown) to Oahu. Thoms is looking forward to getting back into his favorite sport, body surfing. "I tried it in Reno but the snow was just too darn cold", said Thoms.

Ramian is an active US Navy Reserve Captain (SC). Coincidentally, Ramian has a command he is responsible for in Pearl Harbor which, "will be a lot easier getting to once Hornet moves there." He assures us that his reserve obligations had nothing to do with the relocation of Hornet.

There was some concern that we would lose many of our excellent docent and volunteer crew. Several of the older and crankier guys had expressed concern about traveling over the Bay Bridge if the ship were to move to San Francisco. Honolulu has turned out to be much more favorably viewed and we expect many of our volunteers from all departments to relocate.

One of our senior docents, Dale Berven, thought the timing was great. With home prices on the rebound (up 17% on average in the bay area over the last six months), he is putting his home in Livermore up for sale. "Joanne and I have been thinking about moving closer to Hornet anyway. Now we will get a home on Ford Island and I can walk to the ship".

Further information will be published as appropriate over the coming weeks. Please do not call the museum.

Then, several hours later, I received this.

RETRACTION
OF EARLIER EBUZZ
Titled "Pearl Harbor Bound!" dated April 1,
2013

This note is to clarify an earlier
UNAUTHORIZED “E-Buzz” email sent out this morning from the
USS Hornet Museum. The people quoted had absolutely no involvement and any quotesattributed to them were fabricated.

Even though unauthorized, the intent of the earlier email was meant as an April Fool's joke. The USS Hornet Museum has no current plans for leaving the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our apologies if this caused any undue concerns or confusion.

Sincerely,

samurairabbi

I don't know about the lager, but perhaps we could expand our drink menu with a line of frozen daquiris or a marguerita. I am bit lost on a name, but we might be able to work something into this with Susan's unused slushie molds too.

I have been pondering a business idea and have come to the conclusion that it might be worth consideration. I think it is actually going to be easier to actually do than it is to explain, but that is one of the hallmarks of a good sca....errrr business.

The internet is full of reference sites (Angie's list and such things where people get references ) soooo, why don't we start a "who do I ask about who I should ask?" site? A reference site to give references on reference sites.

Now, while thinking about this it dawned on me that there might be a certain personality type that would use this service and we could possibly exploi....errr "cater" to these individuals to a good purpose.

If we were to identify a recognized portion of our clientele as being medically diagnosed as say "clinically insecure", we might be able to offer our services to them "Pro Bono" and thereby write off those clients against the paltry sum we charge the other clients for our services.

As it happens, I know medical uhmm professional (at least as of last Friday and he was found innocent) who for a certain amount of Sweat'n Lager would be willing to give online diagnosis to as many clients as we needed to insure that we show no profit. We could easily write off the services of 4 or 5 "online advisors/masseuses" without having to go through all of the hoops to qualify as a non-profit, merely a business that barely breaks even. If my medical person retains his license (I am sure he will) he could even prescribe our services.

Stanley died in a fire and his body was burned pretty badly. The morgue needed someone to identify the body, so they sent for his two best deer hunting friends, Cooter and Gomer. The three men had always hunted and fished together and were long time members of a hunt camp.

Cooter arrived first, and when the mortician pulled back the sheet, Cooter said, 'Yup, his face is burned up pretty bad. You better roll him over.' The mortician rolled him over and Cooter said, 'Nope, ain't Stanley .'

The mortician thought this was rather strange, So he brought Gomer in to confirm the identity of the body.
Gomer looked at the body and said, 'Yup, he's pretty well burnt up, Roll him over.' The mortician rolled him over
and Gomer said, 'No, it ain't Stanley .'

The mortician asked, 'How can you tell?' Gomer said, 'Well, Stanley had two a**-holes.'
'What! He had two a**-holes?' asked the mortician.
'Yup, we never seen 'em, but everybody used to
say: 'There's Stanley with them two a**-holes.' :honkie:

countrygun, sounds like YOU could be the signal flare !

I love kimchee, but am not sure HOW that figures into a 4th meal. Usually I have that with Tzingdou (sp) for Chinese New Year meal.
However, we ARE a melting pot (fire pot ?) so you're good to go.

Bingo! You have to try it.

In my youth it made an excuse for copious consumption of malted beverages as a bonus.

Indeed. Sa Bum Nim had two boys. One is now a Doctor and one is a Lawyer. Great achievers and positive contributors to society. He had been in Viet-Nam with Whitehorse Division and there were tales to tell. He never let his family forget what things are like in other parts of the world.

But I would include a lot of Taiwanese/Chinese as well.

I have known some old school Kenyans that have been a positive factor as well.

But in general there have been fewer 2nd and 3rd generation Americans, of Korean descent, that have "fallen by the wayside", for some reason.

Had this e-mailed to me this morning....I don't think it is relevant!

A man goes to see the Rabbi. "Rabbi, something terrible is happening and I have to talk to you about it."
The Rabbi asked, "What's wrong?"
The man replied, "My wife is poisoning me.
The Rabbi, very surprised by this, asks, "How can that be?"
The man then pleads, "I'm telling you, I'm certain she's poisoning me,what should I do?"
The Rabbi then offers, "Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I'll see what I can find out and I'll let you know."
A week later the Rabbi calls the man and says, "I spoke to her on the phone for three hours. You want my advice?
The man said, "Yes" and the Rabbi replied, "Take the poison."

When I worked in a hardware store, my boss hired a couple of his AA buddies who really needed a job. Sorry to say, neither had any teeth, and it killed his business. One was an ex felon, who I couldn't stand (I'm pretty sure he was selectively skimmng the registers when one of our mathematically challenged co-workers was working). The other was a sweet old lady who wouldn't help customers on the floor.

I wanted to put up a sign that said, "Ask us about our dental plan."
