I am a SW LA native, not a coonass, but count me in.

PS
Not that there is anything wrong with being a coonass.

I need to check with the PC legal team to make sure I am not offending anyone.

Sure why not. Only because it has to do with Glocks. ;f

Hey Paul, it's hard to offend a coonass.

mrwiggins, lets go shooting some time soon. Email me

Check it, Lafayette. I'm for it.
If any state should have a forum for guns, it's Louisiana, the sportsman's paradise.

FYI, If ya ever go to Lafayette, stop by Lafayette Shooters. Ask for Jared. That's me.;f

I was there about a month ago. Hell of a selection at that place (compared to whats in Lake Charles anyway). We were in town checking out the gun shops in the area, and didn't have that one on the list and almost passed it up. Talked most of the time with a bald headed guy with a goatee, didn't catch his name.

Might be back over there next weekend for the gun show. Let me know if you have some deal too good to pass up over there.

We have a 12 month interest free financing on any firearm in the store starting Aug. 23

We have several guns on clearance, namely the P99 and a few Glocks. If I made more money there, I'd think about the P99's...

I'm in the market for P99, whats your price for a P99AS 9mm?

I will be at work tomorrow to write down the info on the models and prices on our Glocks on clearance. As for the P99, what is the AS in P99AS for? Adjustable sights?

From what I can remember, we have them in 9mm and .40 cal
We also have a titanium coated one. I will get more info on that.

As for me getting paid, as long as you come there and ask for Jared and I sell anything to you, I get credit for the sale. I've just started so I don't get commission, but I will get credit for making goal sales.

Thanks for the interest and I will get back to you on those models and their prices.

AS is the Anti-Stress trigger, it's the DA/SA one. From what I gather there are 3 diff trigger configs for the P99 QA, AS, and DAO.

08-16-2004, 11:42
Ok, so the standard P99 is the AS. Well, I think that's all we carry. Also, let me apologize for saying that I would be at work today. Turns out I have today off, so I have to work the weekend. I will handle it tomorrow for sure.

OK!! Got the prices. We have 2 P99 9mm's: OD and black for $499.99 on clearance. Normally we charge $579.98 for it, but we've put them on clearance. Here's the cool thing. We have 2 .40 cal P99's. One is titanium coated (therefore 2 toned), and the other is standard black. Turns out that we got the titanium coated one for a great price (selling for $599.98) so we went ahead and charged less for the titanium coated one than the standard (selling for $629.98). Great deal.

So here's the breakdown

P99 9mm's:
OD green - 499.98
Black - 499.98

P99 .40's:
Titanium coated - 599.98
Standard Black - 629.98

4 total

I forgot to get the Glock prices, so if you want those I can get those tomorrow.

chrisman17
08-18-2004, 20:34
Those are excellent prices, maybe I can mosey on over there this weekend! Are you guys listed in the phone book?

controlled.pair
08-18-2004, 20:40
Ok, as promised, I have the glock prices.

On clearance:
G27 normally 619.98 at our store, on clearance for 539.98
G36 normally 639.98, on clearance for 549.98

Normal:
G23 619.98
We have a refurb G23 gen 2 for 489.98

Finally, these cost 549.98:
G17
G19

It is 50. Unless we got a lot more LA GT'ers here then I realized, it looks look like we won't have enough.

No luck at the gun show. Thought I'd had a used glock 19 for $375, but the only thing he was going to give me with it was 1-10 round mag.

I've seen quite a few other people posting from LA, but I assume that very few of them check the state club house very often.

It would probably be a good idea for all of us to put a link to this thread in our signatures.

It would be cool to get enough of us together to do some shoots for a weekend. Lafayette would be pretty much the most central meeting spot for most of us.

Okay, I think its pretty clear that we're not gonna get 50 of us here to start our own area so I'm gonna highjack the thread for just a minute. [start of rant]
I've been watching "The Waterboy" again and I gotta tell ya that there's a lot more than than just a little truth to their characterizations of our beloved Bayou State.
First of all, they show a dirty, littered campus and while not all La. college campuses are littered, it still remains a problem state-wide. Scenic bayous, beaches, and highways liberally sprinkled with trash, beer cans, used sofas, etc. Its heartbreaking to see some beautiful places get trashed.
Fans passing around a whiskey bottle in the stands....just another way to pass a good time, hanh?
Our state is known for its gourmet cuisine but we are also leaders in obesity, cancer due to smoking, etc.
We have friendly, warm people but also one of the most corrupt (if not #1) politicians in the country. This week the Wall Street Journal referred to New Jersey as the "Louisiana North" because of all its corruption.
I was transferred away from La. for a year and missed the "Motherland" greatly. When I transferred back, I had forgotten how bad our state looked. It was like driving back into a third world country with unmowed highway medians and trash and litter everywhere. Do you ever feel the same way? It makes me wonder what outsiders must think of our state. [End of rant.]
Thanks for letting me vent. I guess Bobby Bouchet must have struck a nerve.

I think it really depends on what part of the state you are in. I-20 is properly mowed from Texas to Mississipppi with very little signs of litter. I do agree that Louisiana's image needs to change. Anyone know how much it would be to adopt a section of road? I think this would be more constructive than me flying across the country ala Jay and Silent Bob and beating people senseless with my college calculus book to change perceptions.

I'd love to be heading down I-10 and see "This section sponsored by the Louisiana Glock Club"

Whenever signups completely dry up, somebody should send an email to the moderator asking if we could have some slack cut for a state club.

I think the 50 people signup rule is just there to prevent them having a subforum for every topic in the world.

I was thinking that the 50 member rule should not apply to state clubs, but rather simply have a club for each state setup by default. If people from that state participate, great. If not, oh well.

What do ya'll think?
