I read a review on The high road and apparently, it's good. Brand new barrel, etc but some small parts are surplus GI. When you get it, just strip it down and make sure there's nothing funny going on. But I've seen three reviewed so far and responses have been highly positive.

Funny as in nothing got screwed up. There shouldn't be, but in any new gun, it's a possibility.

For a 30 carbine, a cast receiver would be okay as the operating pressure is very low. I am pretty sure that they are cast as forged would be expensive. I think that for that much money I would look at the gun shows for a GI rifle first. Thats just my humble opinion.
