Anyone have much success working DX on 6M FM simplex?

I have been a Ham for only about 6 months or so, and have only talked on 6m once so far haha. From my car for a simplex net. I wish there were more activity on 6m.

It probably depends on conditions more than anything else. When I was first licensed in the 70's I worked coast to coast with 4 watts AM (Benton Harbor Lunch Box) and a 20 meter beam. Make sure to monitor the 6 Meter FM frequency 52.525 and call frequently. I haven't been on 6m FM for a long time. I think I will turn the rig on now and see if anyone is around.

find anything? what are the usual distances expected on 6m? I know it is unpredictable and all...
