<p>I have recently set up my third generation 17L with a carver mount and CMORE sight. I was nervous because the setup was big money and the CMORE has a very bad rap on some boards on the net. I have had about two thousand rounds of flawless shooting.
The CMORE is really great. You put the dot on the target and thats where it goes. I could not be happier. Let me know what you have done with Optics for your glocks...I was thinking of doing a race setup as a model 34 with AO EXpress sights, not optic but still fast...Let me know!

i don't have a setup like this, but Hakko makes a sight like c-more, but with a much better reputation. Only about $150 if you look around.

Does the Hakko come with a mount for the Glock, is it extra. And How much gunsmithing is involved. I'm looking for that type of sight for a Model 22C on account of "old eyes" !

I just had the Meprolight night sights installed on my month old Glock 23. I paid $99.00 including installation.

I think the hakko has a standard weaver rail mount. I reccomend the CARVER mount with the weaver rail. I think its pricey but its worth it. I have the model that takes the cmore but in retrospect I should have gotten the weaver model.

The best HUD style is a Cmore, the best tube style is the Aimpoint. My brain works better with tubes so I shoot an Aimpoint.

Express sights are a waste. They are fast up close (so is a bald slide) but at distance they arre greatly lacking in precision. A good notch and post is the the fastest and most precise, when using proper dimensions.

Custom Glock Racing,

Are you aware of the bad press CMORE has recieved on other sights? I have had a great expierence but I am not a hard core user, but I would think you are! Have you tried the Hakko open style??

Thanks,

Ben

I had a OKO reflex with 8MOA. It was very nice but everyone around here shoots IDPA so i sold it:(
If anyone needs a RedField Mount, PM me. Its in the classified. Its not as nice as some of the new models but it works good and the cost is super low ;)

Bena, nope. I have used them alot personally and know tons of other shooters that have used them alot with no real problems.

Now I see at Dillons you can get a C_more Railway for less than an OKO..Thinking if CGR has not had bad luck maybe thats the way to go...They are 209 at Dillons...

Thinking....;? ;?

They can break just like anything else, but from my personal experience and that of many folks I know that use Cmores they are well built durable sights with good service. They do have a big of horizontal parralax and sighting them in can be a bit of a pain since its not a click system but overall they are very good.

Matt,
Do you think that's a function of what you were used to (pre-Cmore) or just that everyone's wired differently, differing eyesight capabilities, or....? Do you have an opinion (optics-wise) for someone who's thinking about putting together an Unlimited gun (GSSF) but hasn't done any shooting with either form of optic? (Carver mount it will get; but the sight will dictate which type.)

Wig,

The best thing you can do is try out some guns with different optics.

At times my eyes will fight for dominence but a tube blocks out a tiny bit of vision from the left which keeps the right dominant. I also prefer the lower sighting plane of a Tube.

Each style and brand has its own pros and cons.

Sounds reasonable, thanks for the advice. Have to see if I can get dp177 to bring his rig to the next practice.... ;f

Anyone seen or tried the DoctorSight? These ones mount directly on the slide (slide riders). Any opinions or actualy expeerience with these? Would it:

1. Affected by the cycleing of the slide (recoil)
2. Affect sight picture requisition because it moves with slide?

It is small and compact and easy to install..but not sure...because it seems not many people use it nor seen it much in the competition scene...;Q

I tried a dot sight but the extra weight was bothersome and the Leopuld scope mount effected the reliablity so I went back to my JP Custom Double Ring sights.

Not for everyone but I like them.
