I have been interested in Bushnell's Holosight, or the Eotech Holosight for quite some time. Has anyone here had any experience with them? Advantages/disadvantages? I would be mounting it on an AR carbine, replacing my old Aimpoint 3000. any advice would be much appreciated.

Have the Bushnell Holosight on an Oly .45ACP carbine. No problems and I like it as it's smaller and lighter than the Aimpoints.

I have been having problems with my Aimpoint. The dot won't stay at the same level of brightness. I think it may be in the rheostat control, or just a poor connection somewhere inside.. bummer!

I'm a tinkerer, so if you want to get rid of it let me know.

I think you should get rid of the Aoimpoint immediately and send it to me. I'll fix it.;Q

I've had two aimpoints in the past. I didn't like them. I currently have a Bushnell Holosight mounted on an H-91, and it is one of the fastest short range sights I've ever used.
However, I like the Trijicon reflex sights even more. They are awesome.
If it is a defensive gun then defiantly go EOtech.

Here's a stupid question.
Is there a difference between the Bushnell Holosight and the EOTech Holosight? They look exactly the same to me.

EOtech has a thick metal "rollbar" to protect the sight from impacts.

Yes, there is. I believe that the Eotechs are built under more exacting circumstances. Eotechs have the rollbar, and they have better waterproofing. The bushnells are cheaper for a reason.
