After looking around I purchased a Lasermax Laser sight for my G21.
It arrived last night and install was easy... Took me all of 15min.
and that was with reading the instruction manual 2x.... Works well and hopefully will be on target tomorrow when I go to the range to practice....
All in all its a well thought out package and would recommend it to anyone concidering it...........

Does the dot line up with your sights? I played with one at the gun store and it was about 3 feet off at 15ft from the sights. That scared me away from even considering a lasermax on my Glock.

I hope the one you have works out well for you.

Its pretty nice.Just takes getting used to the blinking light vs a solid beam..... Im a bit aprehensive to shoot it any further untill I talk to Lasermax. I have finally found out the G21 I own is a Gen 2.5 not a Gen 3 and the Laser Sight is for a Gen 3 G21 FG/R... Am calling Lasermax today to verify its ok for my G21..........

I bought LaserMax for a Glock 36 from www.ultout.com and it took me three weeks to get it installed.

The original takedown spring flew out of the frame when I was removing it. I couldn't get the new takedown lever spring to fit into the frame. In the process of trying, it also flew across the room, never to be seen again. The seller just told me to contact LaserMax. Eventually LaserMax sent me a new spring, I took it to a gunsmith and he saw a piece of the original spring broken off in the frame. When he removed it, the new spring fit right in and everything was OK. So much for my mechanical skills.

Recently, I paid $525 for a used Glock 27 with a LaserMax already installed. That was a much better experience.

I now realize that I posted a question about LazerMax in the wrong forum! oops! anyway I was thinking about getting one for a g19 but I dont knw about the on/off switch....? How does that work...? How about the overall quality for the money...? Does recoil feel different...?

Thanks

I'll wade in here as the Lasermax is a standard issue item for our duty Glock 22s and 23s. Doug is someone I consider a friend and Lasermax is a good company. They have made improvements since we first purchased and installed them.

The single best thing Lasermax did was to create a captured spring system after they told me they couldn't (ahem! story for another day). The uncaptured spring was the greatest source of frustration and malfunction issue to date. Not to mention hearing the yelling when a spring would zing across the sally port into the shadows.

The slider switch is a smart idea but rests on a fragile part that caused us problems. Essentially, when we would fire strings of more than six or seven rounds, we would have the laser sight involuntarily activate. This was distracting to our officers. A fix was made by Lasermax but it has not been 100 percent reliable. Additionally, the takedown/slider switch can be involuntarily activated by soft sided or thin kydex holsters. When the holster would press against the body or flex, it would push the switch on. Either the laser sight would discharge the batteries in short order or, worse, when in CCW status in public, you would announce to just about anyone you were carrying thanks to the blinking red dot on the ground following you (which did confirm that the blinking red dot does attract more eyes than a solid red one does).

We learned the hard way that open bottomed holsters are tough on the plastic windows at the end of the tube housing the laser sight assembly. In and out of patrol cars all day would jam the female seat belt portion to the bottom of the holster, causing windows to get scratched (fracturing the beam) or popping out the window entirely.

When firing your handgun, you can expect the laser dot to disappear in about 15 to 30 rounds (depending on how dirty the ammo was) thanks to carbon covering the protective window.

Lasermax advised that their laser sights would be within two inches of the standard sight group. For the most part, they were. A couple were off by as much as six inches.

Now, for those that sniff at laser sights as unnecessary, I'll challenge you to put them through the real world. In my department, since installing the laser sight, we have avoided at least two officer involved shootings thanks to the intimidation of the laser sight. Post arrest interviews of both subjects stated that something about the laser sight scared them, as if my small PD was "for real" and "not (pooping) around." In both of those cases, the sights paid for themselves.

In the end, you will do well with a LM sight system. It is certainly cheaper than the costly (but very good) Crimson Trace setup and won't cause you to have to alter your gun frame or have a holster that supports the small CT laser. And by all means, train with it.
