View Full Version : Here's a $1000
I recently received a Barrett M-99 as a present from my wife and now I'm in the market for a scope. I would prefer to not spend more than $600 to $800 but might go to a $1000 if justified. For those of you with 50's, what would you recommend and why?
The best scope I can recommend to you is the Leupold Mark-4 16x40mm. It had 140 minutes of elevation adjustment and you can shoot up to a mile out with any scope rail adjustments. Plus they last for ever and have great customer service. They cost about $1300 retail but they have some new variable power Mark-4's that are just below $1k so check www.leupold.com for more. If you want one I can get you one at a resonable price, 10% over my cost.
My Barrett has a Leupold Vari-X III 8.5-25x 50mm. No complaints so far, but I haven't taken any REALLY far shots so I'm not sure about the adjustments at a mile.
The two most common scopes I've seen on fifties have been Leupold and Nightforce. If I had the money I'd spent it on a Leupold.
Thanks for the info guys. I'm shopping.
