Just couldn't pass it up....$500 for the gun in great shape and 7 S&W magazines......time to go throw some lead!! Reed1911 09-01-2004, 15:52 500.00 for a 1006 and 7 mags?! Good deal!!;f FrankM 09-04-2004, 18:49 Not real sure of the 1006 now that I've gone out and shot it......think I would rather have a G20...not that anything is wrong with it.......just not a Glock...... Oh well life goes on..... agtman 09-04-2004, 19:02 Congrats on the S&W 1006. Don't second-guess yourself, as you can always get a G20 later. The 1006 is a fundamentally different 10mm than the G20. Enjoy it for what it is: a pre-polymer era, all stainless-steel, easy-shooting, slim-packin' 10mm fun gun. :) http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-12/73942/agtman_sw1006v2.jpg  VN350X10 09-04-2004, 21:01 A 1006 is built like a stainless steel BRICK! And just about as likely to break. Good deal on a great pistol. It's the only other S&W I'd like to own. It would go well with my 610 6 1/2". Besides, Glocks are still in production & can be had almost at will. The S&W can only appreciate in value. They already have a cult following among S&W collectors. uncle albert G33 09-04-2004, 22:07 Give it a chance; they grow on you. Specially with Hogues. :) bambihunter 09-05-2004, 00:33 I currently have 7 different 10mm's including both the Glock 10mm's and the S&W 1006 and 1076 FBI and they are different beasts. My Glocks are used for work (the 20 for home defense and the 29 for CCW) but the S&W's have a nice DA/SA feel and if Glocks didn't exist I'd likely carry the 1076 for CCW. What the other guys have said is true, (about the Glock still being available and the S&W gaining value, etc) but you got a good deal so if you absolutely have to have a Glock, you shouldn't have to come up with little (if any) cash to make it happen if you're patient... FrankM 09-06-2004, 20:59 For the encouragement gang!! Its a real pleasure to be able to post on here and get a good feel of what everyones thoughts are on different weapons. As far as the S&W 1006 goes.....it's a great shooter and it is feeling really good....but guess it's one of those that if I ever got rid of a firearm it would probably be that one...guess it's just a deep dark craving I have for the Glocks. Thanks again gang!!!;I vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
