Guys, I haven't been inside Camp Aguinaldo. Can anyone post directions as to how to get to the ISAFP range the fastest. I mean, what gate does one enter and how do you get from there to the ISAFP range. I have no idea as to how big the camp is inside. Thanks :)

wala pa kami definite sched, pero sigurado yan, lahat nang araw, meron puputok from PB. i'll confirm our schedule and post later.
i'll try friday para kasabay ko si batangueno, but i'd rather shoot sunday para di ma-absent sa clinic! sayang pambili ng bala! hahaha!

Eh kasi the night before naglinis ako, match prep ika-nga...naks. Ayun na detail strip at nakursunadahan mag tension ng extractor.;Q
Twenty rounds prior sa match, flawless. Sa match proper, ni isang stage wala'ng pinalampas na walang FTE. 90 rounds after the match, flawless na naman. Magbo-bonsai na lang muna ako!!

Tama si Doc, i used to have all sorts of problem with my extractor and ejector. Liha dito liha doon ng ejector, meron na ngang pukpukin ko yung extractor para maayos yung tension pero bumabalik pa rin yung jam tapos kung hindi nagja-jam sa ulo ko naman tumatama yung jected cases. After pinaltan ko na ng aftec wala na, ayos na lahat. :)
Doc, sa friday na lang hindi na ako puede sa saturday and sunday uuwi kami bataan. :)

Ang problema ng baril ko kasi...ako. ;f Gumagana na 'to dati for several K rounds. Ngayon lang nagloloko nung mey pinaki-alaman na naman ako.

No. 1 should always be reliability. Pag meron ka na duda, your performance suffers, mas magastos in the long run, di ka pa maka-pugo!

IIRC, enter the EDSA gate of Crame, turn right dun sa parang rotonda then go straight. You'll see the range to your right. Better yet, you can ask any of the policemen walking around if you're lost.

Kasi naman sa production, bagalan mo konti yung putok. Get your A's ika-nga. Laki ng penalty ng non-A hits. Sa next shoot, gawin mo alpha-shooting ang goal, bahala na time, tapos compare mo sa previous match results mo.;)
Ang goal ko from now until the next shoot eh wag mag-kalikot ng baril.... ;f;f

Its not looking good. I've cleared my schedule so I can go on friday but now it turns out its Parents day in my son's school(CSA)on that day. Maybe I can shoot after lunch and still finish it(hihirit pa ;f). Hay Naku, that's why I couldn't commit. I'll just go when I can go.;g

Have you guys seen the results of the ORMOC championship at the PPSA website. Quite a powerhouse cast we have there. Didn't know that JJ Racaza shoots here too. Lito Pible was beaten by Romel Canlas. Don't recall the last time I've seen that many revolver shooters(even though most were PNP).:)

Glock gamit ni Jay. Gamit niya Uncle Mike's kydex na binaba yung front cut for easier muzzle clearing.
binigyan ng CZ-85 Combat ng PB di niya mahiyang! Ayun, balik sa Glock!
2 days before the Ormoc match nagpapractice sila ni Jagul sa PB. 3 classic boards from 25 meters. saka tatlong 1/2 boards, left, center, right from 15 meters.
ang lufet talaga gumalaw nun dalawa! sarap panoorin

ayos ba ang LDA? feedbacks pls....how much for a bnew unit? yung XD gamit ni rob leatham pero mukhang mahirap pa kalikot dito sa pinas.

Unlike the Glock, when you pull the XD's trigger, nag-re-release na lang ang sear sa striker, hence it was re-classified as an SA mechanism. Sa glock kasi, when you pull the trigger, the striker moves back until the striker releases from the connector.
Tignan mo sa IPSC website, wala na yung XD sa approved gun list.

oo nga no ..tinamaan ng magaling HS2K/XD pa naman next project ko oh well pang carry..benta ko muna Taurus.
Tama si Doc Eyecuter, SA ang H2K.
Problema rin ang availability ng spare parts. Kahit extra magazine walang mabili.:(

When the HS2000 came out, we were able to test fire it at the range. Actually, mas madali i-tama kesa sa glock para sa akin. Probably bec. of the different gun balance. The hs/xd is muzzle heavy so it has less flip. It also has a better/smoother trigger pull than the glock so there is less tendency for flinching.
It was aggressively marketed by Stronghand. They even had Rundy Ebdane as their sponsored shooter for the HS2000 for IPSC competition, but bec. they couldn't deliver on the spare parts and original magazines, nag pffft! yung popularity. Then IPSC relegated it to STD Division bec. of the single action trigger pull, lalong nawala sa eksena.
Although I see a few being used in PD in the local ipsc circuit, I don't think most RO's know its PD legal. As an entry level pistol for all around use (home defense/competition/ccw), it is more than adequate.

Tried that already using a 10 rnd beretta mag. Pwede pero masagwa tingnan...malaki clearance ng base pad sa grip.

Eye Cutter - I used to shoot with him at North Harbor SWAT Firing range, CQB. Di ba Para 16-40 gamit niya, after the HS2000 balik P16.40 ba uli siya? It's very unfortunate nga dahil nawala na siya sa Manila Shooters.;Q ;Q

Hermo: yep, P16, but i haven't seen Rundy recently in any ipsc matches. Never saw him use the HS, always the Para.
hmmmm, karamihan pala sa top prod shooters tanfoglio gamit eh. diba around 25k lang brand new nito?

use the bonnie serrano gate,leave your dl w/ the guard and go to the dnd bldg on your left (also ask the guard on duty)it's actually the green gate near the nat'l disaster bldg.

I found my missing C-More scope just this morning as I was looking for mag springs for Taurus' Glock 17. Andun lang pala sa bag ko ng mga mag springs all the time!
Konting parts na lang and my open gun project is ready to rock!

I frequent BE's forum and one thing that always intrigued me was comments of some other top shooters about the importance of shooting with a dot sight.
They always say it makes calling the shot easier since you have a dot that's easier to see and you do not have to change focus (back to a front post) to be able to know where you'll hit.
Not having the funds yet for a full blown open gun, I'm thinking of putting on a dot sight on my current limited gun. But without any comp or porting nor the experience with an open gun, I'm only guessing the dot may
become "uncontrollable."
I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on this matter.

Hi Oliver,
Understand that putting an optical sight on any gun for competition sake puts it in Open Class. Taking your limited gun and scoping it has you competing against people with full compensated high-capacity race guns.
Everybody in Limited is fighting the same problems you are. An optical sight does aid aiming in that you don't change your focal distance.
This you are aware of. However, it doesn't make you hold the gun steady or pull the trigger correctly. Your limited gun also kicks and flips dramatically more than a proper Open Gun, and a sight won't change that. An optical sight is an aid, but from a competition standpoint, it doesn't make sense to me to scope your limited gun. The amount the dot flips does not determine whether or not it is controlled.
If you're a competitive shooter, save your money for practice ammo. If you don't care about competition, scoping any gun will probably help you shoot it better. It's easier to see the dot and the target at the same focal distance than iron sights and the target (one of which will be fuzzy).

Had fun shooting alone at the Ermita cup(was with my wife). 5 of the stages were held at the DND range, the other 2 were at the small ISAFP range a short distance from it.
AAAANNNGGG IIIINNNIIITT!!( was so dehydrated, forgot to bring water and the store there only had a limited supply of refreshments) Finished all 7 stages in 5 hours pero parang lantang gulay na ako and I couldn't shoot right towards the end. In a stage where you had to stand on a log while shooting at metal targets, I kept falling off as my feet where so tired( I kept laughing, para akong lasing ;f). I also had a disaster in one stage wherein you had to shoot through color coded ports. I had a good,fast and accurate run but I got all but one port wrong resulting in a huge number of P.E.'s( Once I started shooting I only got the first port right;g) It was fun nonetheless. Good luck to those who will shoot on sunday.
On another note, my load of 200 gr LFN with 4.3 gr of AP-70 with 1.180 COL passed thge chrono with flying colors with a PF of 177(won't reduce it anymore as I like its feel).:)

Yup, if only I could keep up with it ;f. It IS money well spent since I now get to enjoy shooting instead of worrying about my gun's limitations. :)

;f Very true. To add insult to injury after my "drunken" performance. The guy who shot after me stuck to the log like a "tuko" and registered the stage's best time(for that day) of 11 seconds. Just an unsolicited advice to shooters tomorrow, the secret to that stage is footwear. Don't wear something with a rigid sole like I did, wear something that will let your feet hug the log. Barefoot or Aquasocks would do great;f

i used armscor reloads, 4.2 gr fmj, winchester primer, 150pf Hmmmph..
Yun pa nga yung isan kinainis ko e...
4.2 BA10 210 gr 45's yung pre-loaded na mga binili ko ke Tru weight, yun mga naka-supot sa sahig...
Minor lang pala, 162 lang! Kaya pala laging FTF, mahina lang sya. ;g
Sa susunod babantayan ko nang pa-reload. ;Q

on the warm up stage i had 2 mikes! this is due to over dri firing;g i was pulling the trigger even before my sights went back to the notch!
I used the same shooting splits in dry fire(no recoil) in that first stage. sama talaga.
on the left hand stage i had another mike. fustration due to failures to feed (limp wristing. the round is on the feed ramp, i just have to pull the slide back and let it go to load) i replaced my recoil spring with ismi 12.5 pounds a week before, looks like ill have to go back to my old setup. I copied MCalikot's experiments ;f ;f ;f
See you next week. i probably hit 20th place with those mikes 4 total and a terrible time at the left hand stage when my blaster became a single shot pistol.

Next time you live fire, pay attention to your audible splits. Tapos remember that tempo when you dry fire. It's very easy to get carried away with the trigger when your sights aren't moving.;)

150pf-its because i really didn't have any plans to compete last weekend..until i found out i can for free;f so due to time constraints, i got armscor loads. this coming weekend, its judge's GM loads as usual;z

jasonub: yung warm up stage mo ba yung last stage on the left side of the range? the one where you start seated, gun on table? That was my best stage, after that, everything went down the drain...
it was so hot and humid yesterday, kala ko magpa-pass out si dogman!
its the stage on the leftmost portion of the range. got it at 13 seconds 2 mikes, 3 charlies, 10 alphas. HF of only 4;g
without those mikes it would be 5.53H, what makes it worse is that i knew i missed but did not shoot at it again.
everything became better after that

I ran a long course in karingal tapos inabot lang saken 12 brass. sabi ko "ito lang?" sagot ng mga bad boys "yan lang nakita namin e". parang ayaw ko na maglaro sa karingal. dapat magkaruon na ng "Shooter's Voice". tapos ibang mga ROs ang yayabang. sisilipin ko lang yung mga hits ko bulong ba naman "wag ka ng lumapit baka magka mikes ka pa". :steamed:

They were advised by our LEO/military shooter friends to hire one of the boys there as their permanent "Bad boy" who will follow them all throughout the match and coordinate with the bad boys at the stages. It turns out that if you do this you can get almost all your brass. Some of the designated bad boy's friends even give you brass that isn't yours;Q At the end of the day, the boy was given 150 pesos for his efforts. Only in the Philippines.:)
for a copy of the ermita cup, col bayang has one for us to photocopy. have not visited him since i still owe him money hehe.

Grabe uso pa pala ngayun ang PITIKAN ng brass..;f ;f had that happen to me twice in Traffic unit range "trabo" i shot 200 rounds at the end of the day i only have 50 pieces of brass left:(

I sent PPSA an email on why scores are taking that long to get published. Last time I talked to Norman A. he told me that Stats directors like him usually submit a copy of the results for publishing at the website on the day after a match ends.

Hehe, makati lang ako dre, 'di armscor. Canon na still cam binili ni misis (kaya balik standard muna ako kasi mukhang mey oven na kasunod. ;1) Gusto ko kunan yung light rail option ni Col Bayang at yung thumb rest sa pang Standard niya. Post ko dito pics when it's done.

Dre, yung akin FP XL gawa ni Col Bayang out of an engine valve. You can try asking him about it. There's also Limcat na XL firing pin, less than 1K lang yata kay Tru Weight.
go for the limcat, remember its only for competition pistols not carry pistols since it almost peeks at the hole, one pistol drop and it can fire

It may help resolve the following:
1. shallow primer hits, you can now have reliable ignition with hard primers even when your MS is only 15#.
2. primer drag marks, and primer material accumulating in the FP hole
3. primer tear marks (this one I'm not sure why, but mine just disappears when I use the XL type).
Mey fitting involved dito so that you don't accidentally end up with pierced primers. But I forgot. Something to do with checking the front tip while the rear end is flush with the FP stop surface. Can't recall how deep the tip should be from the surface of the breech face.
If you do not experience any of the above conditions, you probably do no need to change the FP.
Also, for guns with a FP safety, I can undertsnad breaking the FP. But for a S70-type 1911 FP, has anyone actually broken one? Which part of the FP? During when, live or dry firing?

Yup, it's also been finally posted at PPSA website. Thanks again to Doc EC for texting me the results in advance. 83rd in standard is better than I expected considering that I had 13 procedural errors ;P on the color-coded stage 3 due to shooting through the wrong ports and the 3 mikes I got all in all.

Huh!! Ang bait nung R.O.na yon ah, pati yong si Jeff Parungao na kasama niya. They even consoled me on my by big color-blind booboo on the color-coded stage.;f

oh so thats the col belarmino, he was the one before i shot that stage and minura nya lahat ng ro. he got it at 18.89 seconds around 14 down and a supposed miss. to compare, i got it at 21 and down 2. meaning he is the fastest in that stage.
that supposed miss he said is not since there is a hit on the tacker line. problem is that the tacker line hit was 9mm that has a partial tape that came off. he insisted it was his hit and wanted a reshoot and stated that he will get it at 17 since he is angry.
they removed the said target and i shot it. after showing clear i can still hear him cursing;P

Yup, that guy is really fired up and competitive when he shoots as we always see him in our circuit matches. He hates it when he has to reengage plates(don't we all :))and curses at them. He challenges everything and the R.O.'s are always on their toes whenever he shoots.
When he's not shooting he's usually mild-mannered and unassuming and quite easy to get along with. :)

To those shooting at the Gen. De Leon's cup, be early. Remember what happened to us BOGS/Team PB at the EPD cup? Its a level 1 shoot but it took us all day because most of the cops were very slow and there was a lot of handholding done for them by the ROs ;e

anyway lyndon never did that, dont know about lito. I have yet to hear that todd jarret, jerry barnhart, rob leatham, etc was dqed for unsprortsman like conduct. In fact i think he is the only one like that.
even our own jetro was very kind and unassuming. At a match that i watched, the ro scored all hits but jetro before signing told him he miked a target and had it indicated at the score sheet.
This also happened to Jerry barnhart vs Jetro I think. At a man vs man, jetro's gun jammed. Guess who asked the RO for a reshoot? Your right, Jerry asked them to have them both reshoot. Jerry won. Now that is a mark of a truly good shooter, good shooting and good attitude and good sportsmanship;)
Hope he does not do those things since it turns off many new shooters, scaring them mostly. Their thinking if im a good shooter i should be also very baaaadd to the Ro's and have a Baaad attitude
And he is a Cop for crying out loud. He should be good to give a better image. especially now when the image of the PNP is you know what i mean.

Confused the ro looked around and everybody had a blank stare at their faces and looking at him, some were smiling.
he asked why did rob stop, Rob responded, you beeped me again. And tapped the RO smiling.
Guess majority of pinoy shooters are asses if their attitude is this way. Im going to the top but will not be an $#@. The RO works very hard and we should appreciate their devotion to the sport. Everybody is human and make mistakes. Imagine there are no RO's due to the attitude of shooters. Where will one shoot then??

I remember one match sa Karingal. Andun lahat ng team armscor at squad nina Lito (LAG-PSG yata) sa isang stage. Pumutok si Lito. When he finished, sigaw ng RO yung time, IIRC, "16 secs!" Sabay sigaw ni Lito at tingin sa peanut gallery "O habulin nyo 16 sec ko, down 1 lang yan!"
Sumunod si Alex then Ariel, both netting around 20+ secs. Nainis si Alex, ginulo yung stats table at kinuha yung scoresheet ni Lito. Sabay sigaw "Langya, dahil sa yo naapektuhan putok ko!" Tapos nag tawanan sila. Lumapit si Ariel at ibang team armscor at tiningnan yung scoresheet ni Lito. 16 sec nga pero down 10 something at mey dalawa'ng mikes! ;f;f
psychological warfare yun. nasira tuloy ang putok ng iba:)
grabe talaga trash talk sa standard ;) pati ako "on edge" . . . eh production naman ako ;e ganun katindi trash talk nila!

Stage 7 - Warlord. I saw what i need to see again, 1 down.
The weather today was perfect, no scorching heat from the sun, a bit cloudy, but humid. Overall, I decided to shoot my pace, see what I need to see. I got 4 mikes, compared to eyecutter, judge, homegenizer, et. al, that is nothing, but to me, it is a personal best for now. I'm happy with how I shot today, figured out one basic fudamental that i got wrong, my grip;P . When I became aware of it, I saw the difference in the stages that I got 1 down lang;e Except for 1 premature slidelock and an FTF on Stage 2 9(condition 1, i used the "tuned" mag, maybe because i used teflon, ran out of fmj)
IMHO, the Ermita cup was tougher.
Almost failed the chrono stage, with PPTS's fave RO at the helm.
I was the last to be tested, and the (apparently) new CED "talking" chrono was giving crazy readings. Check these results.
1st. Trial- 2915, 953, 886, 3203, 3003, 953- ave= 931, my head is 131.8 gr resulting in a pf of 122 ;P buti na lang, hiningan ulit ako ng bala. if not, i would dispute the result on the basis that the chrono equipment is unreliable. so i suggest you go to the chrono bay first.
2nd. Trial- 1037, 1015, 953, ave=1001, pf=132

OK doc, we'll see if it will fit my sked. Just don't do a repeat of the homeowner stage, its more suited for the right handed because the 2 IPSC boards on the innter center is more visible to them. for southpaws like us, the left board is only 80% visible;g

BRPG's shoot will be on October 9-10. Our club's level 2 will hopefully be in November(its still in the planning stage).
You're right southpaw's like us do have to contend with a different level of difficulty as most stage designers have right handed shooters in mind. There are times though when they make it difficult for righties and as a result make it easier for us(rarely):)

BTW, at today's shoot, that IPSC rule that says, shooters must not touch targets was emphasized. this must be an offshoot of what happened last week sa ermita cup.
At stage 6, may dinispute na hit si christian panganiban sa swinger. it took a while, naasar na nga yung isang RO. it remained a mike though;e

These problems can be minimized if they would only replace the boards after every dozen or so shooters. I'm sure the entrance fees to these matches more than cover the costs(at ten pesos per board, jeez). As it is they only replace the board if a top shooter complains or its really beat up. Parepareho lang naman ang reg fee namin sa mga yan!!
Problem is even if they do this some shooters just really can't accept failure. A mike is a mike is a mike. It doesn't really take that long to see what it is unless you really want to draw attention to yourself. Nagbabakasakali lang yang mga yan. My .02, sorry for the rant;f

actually, they did replace the swinger board after christian's dispute, but it remained a mike;e

These are my chrono(CEI)readings when i tested your ammo ;f:
997/1010/1005, ave=1004, head=130.2grs, pf=130.72
Buti pala dinagdagan natin powder charge, first chrono test ko was just resulting to 128.57pf
Maski yung CED dati dito sa indoor range namin di magamit dahil puro error readings din. Ernie complained to CED at HongKong and the whole unit was replaced. Now its running fine maski hindi bukas lahat ng mga ilaw... infrared technology 'ata ini! .... ;f ;f ;f

sabi nga ni BE sa book niya, you need to shoot 90-95% of the points per stage in all stages to be in contention! Kung hindi, sa kangkungan ka pupulutin!!!
And the speed comes naturally. Nagiging slow motion movie! Kala mo mabagal pero mabilis pala time mo!

eh i've been trying for speed, masahol pa sa kangkungan ako napadpad. ngayon, hindi pa din ako mananalo, pero baka malipat na ako sa kamotehan;f
after the carnapper stage, mario "the smiling RO" recalled my score sheet stating it should have been 30.36 and not 30.30. his colleague made mistake in readng the timer, he apologized for it. i jokingly replied, "no problem sir, di pa naman ako top shooter e;f "

Dapat perfect for each and every shot. Well, not so perfect, pwede rin pag naghahabol ka ng time! look for the target, align the sights, pause, break the shot, sigurado di ka mag-mi-miss

its just my decision right now to shoot at a pace where i'm comfortable...i'm raring to speed it up later but i just want to absorb the fundamentals first..;e
rob leatham is not as fast as blake miguez but still rob wins most of the time ...why? because he gets better hits ..

limited ang katapat ng Standard division dito sa US. kaso instead of having a box rule we have a mag lenght restriction kaya its legal to shoot a 6 inch gun with a 140mm magazine....i was just so stoked at TGO hinde pa tapos ang nationals (last day today) ang laki na ng lead nya..hanep talaga;P

yet there is nothing really special with that pistol its just a regular .40.. nothing special like the SV sight tracker..darn he could use a G26 in open and still kick our butts with it..;f ;f

I think the XD isn't legal for production because of its essentially single action trigger:) however, I've seen some shooters here using it for production but the R.O.'s here don't seem to notice.

You see the elite runners tearing down the road, and consciously or unconsciously gusto mo sila habulin.
Which results in running above your level of fitness, and disaster

You arrive at the match and marinig mo pa lang ang ratratan, your affected agad.
Mawawala na sa tono ang putok mo
The smooth accurate shooting pace that you've been doing sa practice naging wild at puro mikes
So you just blame it on malas or breaks of the game or lack of sex :(

In my case I've found that having sex the night before or on the morning of a match day, takes my edge off and I feel sluggish so I've learned not to. Nawawala ang bangis ;f ;f ;f

di totoo yan! I beg to disagree!!! my best performance was when I had a nice one the night and the morning before the match!!! hahahaha!!! and I have the trophies and medals to back up my claims!!!

you hit it right on the dot. aside from my grip,i realized that my eyes are not that quick in reading the sights. hence, since i programmed myself to pull the trigger once i get visual confirmation, i am not able to shoot as fast as the top shooters like Doc TSMBRO;f . winning is sweet, no arguments on that. but i accept i'm not yet there, so i've decided to set manageable goals, learn more and enjoy the journey. after all, Rome wasn't built in one day :cool:
