I have night sights on all my carry guns. Either MMC adjustables or Mepro's and a couple of Trijicons. I've been reading alot of folks advocating only a front night sight. Any of you try it? What do you think? Thanks for the input.

Are you certain they were advocating the front sight as being the only one being illuminous or the only one with a white dot?

I have the Ameriglo Operator sights on a couple of my guns and I really like them a lot. Although both the rear and front are night sights, only the front glow tube is surrounded by the white outline. Although I like them very much I don't think they are that great to swap out all of your current sights. I would however recommend them to any one that is looking for new sights.

Here is a link to check them out. If you put your mouse on the picture they glow.

They're talking about front-sight-only night sights...just like the subject says. This has been discussed in several threads over the past few years here on GT. I prefer tritium front and back.

I have Ashley Outdoors Big Dot Express Tritium front only sights on my G30.

Since it's an Express sight with only One Dot to begin with I didn't find the lack of a rear bad. If the dot was occluded, my front sight was low, and reflex made sure my draw was good and the gun was basically level. Even in almost complete darkness, I could still get decent hits.

I vote front and rear tritium as well. I only wish I could change the color of the tritium in either the front or rear of my trijicons for faster confirmation of correct sight picture in a stressfull situation...

I prefer front only.
I only use them to find my gun in the dark anyway.

I could deal with front only. Might actually prefer it that way if I ever tried it.

Prefer front and rear in most cases, but I'm considering trying a front-tritium-only on a fixed-sight .38 snubbie I have...

I prefer front sight in tritium only and th rear in target black. To much to concentrate on if I have the rear sights glowing since you are suppose to focus on the front sight. With some range time in the dark it is very easy to get used too. I set up all my personal pistols this way.
