Ken, I see you're finally putting your name on them. Have you thought about putting the URL of your website on, or perphaps the specific URL of a page devoted to your intended usage and distribution? I suppose there's no money involved, but I'm sure your images are now all over the world, and mostly unattributed.
Beautiful as usual, but you know that. :)
Hi Ken,
Great looking pictures. What kind of camera are you using.
Do you shoot at any of the local matches at all.
Jeff:)
I put my name on these photos because I was going to have the hi-res versions printed and sent to John Jardine, and that was the best way to let him know who sent them. For now, I take these photographs because I enjoy doing so. Who knows, though. If I get fired some day, I may need to depend on these photography skills.
In terms of camera, I use a Nikon D100 digital SLR with a Nikkor 60mm Micro (aka, macro) lens for these photos. But, it's not so much the camera, but rather taking great care when setting the focus, aperture (the smaller the better, for maximum depth of field), lighting, white balance, exposure, and so on.

How would you compare the metal work and overall feel of the valtro to your new kobra carry ????

Lunde, your killin' me here. This is the 2nd time I have checked that baby out and it just gets better looking. What a beautiful pistol that is. I think you should do the charitable thing and let me have the one that is on order right now in your name. You don't need 2 Valtro 1998's. Besides do you want my emotional well being on your conscience the rest of your life????
She's a BEAUTY...
Thanks for the pics.

Here's what I like about the Valtro: superb checkering, top grade steel used for the slide/frame, superb finish, superb fitting of all parts, all corners rounded or otherwise not sharp, superb trigger.
Here's what I like about the Kobra Carry: compact size, Bobtail grip, Novak's night sights, superb finish, no front slide serrations, superb fitting of all parts, minimal markings on the slide (such as nothing on the left side), superb trigger (though not quite as good as the Valtro).
Ken,
So what is your favorite gun among your collection.
Just wondering...

Just wondering...Honestly, it's tough to pick a favorite. The best I can narrow it down is my favorite on a caliber basis. Still, this may change from week to week. In the end I like them all.
For .45 Auto, my Valtro stands out, with the Kobra Carry right up there.
For 10mm, it is the Glock 20. My Colt Delta Elite is right up there, though, and has a much better trigger, having been tuned by John Jardine.
For 9mm, it is the Walther P99, whether full size or the new Compact.
For .357 Sig, probably my Sig P226ST.
For .40 Auto, the Glock 35.

I think that your emotional well being is slighly better off than mine..... so maybe Ken could write my name on the list first..;)

Ken, For the love of god you have to stop showing the valtro.... my HK's and even my colt 1911 are starting to look to me like something I built in the garage late while having a few beers... ;)

I am quite surpised about this statement. I would have expected perhaps HK or Sigs. Please explain why you choosed
Walther P99 instead. I really would like to hear your opinion.
I stopped by at Target Masters where they have P99, handled it but found nothing to be exited about. this is just my opinion of course...
I totally agree with the Valtro. John's list is very long.
I would have to wait for a year or two..
Thanks Doctor Ken...

Specifically, its reset is incredibly short and crisp with virtually no slack. Simply fondling a P99 is not enough to appreciate how it shoots. They are also very accurate, and mine have been flawless.

I just heard that they are starting out right now at $1795 and a 2 year wait. Is that what it sizes up to Valtro Man?

Many Thanks Doctor Ken. Your comments are meaningful as you do have the guns that I have been eyeing for a long time.
P7M8 is almost $1500. HK USPs have a decent price and just as the P99.
BTW, I thought I read somewhere that P99s have different trigger pulls and if so what is yours?
stglock
All of my P99s have the standard (SA/DA) trigger, now called the AS version as of this year. You can also buy QA (Quick Action, which means a constant trigger pull for all shots, much like a Glock) and DAO (Double Action Only, formerly called the P990). Only the AS version has the short and crisp trigger reset.
