Spiders

Can anyone help me identify this spider? I bumped into him, or her, this weekend and snapped a picture.

I live in southern NH, if that helps.

That's a garden spider. That's really the official name. We see them in the fields all the time. Very common, beneficial and harmless.Big though!

It was pretty big. I haven't seen one around here with those colors; pretty vivid.

The garden spiders appear about this time of year. When you see the first one, you know it ain't long until fall ;)
