i plan on purchasing night sights for my glock. i know most can be installed on my own, but what's the best way to remove the stock sights?
I have switched out stock sights for night sights on several of my Glocks. My recommendation is, if you are going to do this more than one time, to buy the tool to do the job. Glock makes one as does Glockmeister. I suppose you could drift it out with a punch and hammer, but this has high likliehood of causing damage or atleast scrathes. It is fiarly easy and straightforward with one of the sight tools. A sight tool also gives you the advantage of providing sight adjustment after instalation. If this is a one-time deal, go to a dealer who will usually install new sights for free if you purchase them from the dealer.
Good luck.

Glock, as a matter of fact, makes two sight pushers. If you're going to get a sight pusher, take a look at the MGW at Lonewolf Distributors. It works with both large and small framed Glocks.
To remove the front sight, grab it with a pair of plyers and yank it off. To remove the flimsyass plastic rear sight, just drift it out with a punch. Take a look at some of the excellent sights made by Ameriglo. Some of their models don't require any special tools for installation. They even includee a front sight tool with the kits.
