seems like lots of people on here use the 22# spring, as from what ive heard the stock 18# spring can batter the rails. So I guess I was curious how the gun would feel with a 20 or 24 spring - would the 24 drop the felt recoil but possibly introduce feed problems? - would the 20 be too light with hunting loads and batter the frame/slide? - does it really matter?? steve

also where is the best/ cheapest place to find glock parts (ext mag release etc... glockmieter seems pricy any others?

Please reference this previous discussion...towards the bottom is my response with lessons learned. In short don't go any higher than 20 pound recoil spring period.

I am shooting some of the hottest loads available and the 20 pound is protecting my gun just fine. Keep in mind that when you go with a stronger spring to protect the gun when the slide goes back...that very same extra strong spring returns the slide to the forward position faster and harder than the 18 or 20 pound spring and can very well damage the gun on the opposite end.

The 22 and 24 pound springs did nothing better for me and they also caused timing issues with my G-20 and always left the last round in magazine. Nothing much worse than shooting at the range while 3 to 5 men are watching you and then they see you fussing with your gun to get that last round to chamber. Doesn't exactly make them want to go purchase a Glock.

I have been using stock springs in mine 10's since they were new and don't have any hint of "battering". I never saw a need or wanted to use heavier springs. I prefer the quicker follow up shots afforded with regular wieght springs. And before all the comments about the smaller calibers use the same spring come up, yes they do but the 10mm has a much heavier slide to soak up some recoil.
