What's the maximum effective range of the Glock 19, practically speaking? How does it compare with the Glock 34 or other compact Glocks of different calibers?
What's the best range for reliable accuracy for a decent shooter?
Thanks,
-Matt C.-
Couple inch groups at 25 yards should equal 8" groups at 100 yards.
Should be able to hit a human sized target fairly regularly out to 150 yards or so.
Never tried it myself though.
On a whim, I fired 30 rnds standing at an IDPA target at 100 yards. Once I figured out the hold over--aiming at the head seemed to put them mid targetish, I was able to put them in with some consistency about 50%. I'm not an uberpistolero or anything--I'm sure others can do much better.
But, it was just for grins and giggles--at 100yards, I want at least a foot more barrel and another 1000fps.

Matt;
I was at the range this morning and one of the drills is to engage a IPSC type target at 50 yards. I haven't practiced this in many months and the was the first time with the 19. Out of twenty plus rounds three misses, all others torso hits. I used point of aim hold with no problem. I'll keep working on this until I can keep them all in. Steve
