View Full Version : dodge truck antenna mount
Anyone know of a good 2m mount for the hood of a new dodge truck? May still mount it on the roof, but then it will never make it in the garage. Already too long, but like to get it in a little during bad weather etc. ideas?
www.firestik.com has stake hole mounts that also work, they also sell an antenna for 2m. I have not tried their stuff, but I have seen some of their mounts and they look solid. Check their site, I think they catalog a mount for new dodge.
This is what you need:
I'll be using it on my Durango shortly. I've had two Firstik mounts and antennas (two different rigs) and I've never had any problems with them.
I haven't looked at their US catalogs,
But when I was living in Australia the ARB and TMJ bull bars (brush guards) had tabs welded on them for mounting HF antennas. You also could buy antenna mounts that were just a flat plate with a couple of u-bolts to go around the bull bar.
I had a Landcruiser with a HF Outbacker Antenna, UHF CB, 11 meter CB, and 2M ham antennas all mounted on the bull bar.
Ditto on the Firestick mounts. I've got two on my '97
Dakota. One for a 2m/70cm dual-band and one for my
Chicken-Band. I mounted one on each side.
Heres mine. It hits everything, but with the spring on it nothing will hurt it. this is a 1/2 wave Antennex, motorola mount.
