So I am planning to get a AR-50. Call up Armalite to verify Muzzle Brake can come off, so I can put sound suppressor on. Answer: Yes no problem - thread pitch is 1x12 or whatever. One more thing, can I get Starlight case with custom cutouts like Barrett? Answer: No, just softcase.

So my gun comes in the other day and there is a note on the Muzzle Brake saying it permenently attached and cannot be removed. I check the manual and it clearly states Muzzle Brake can be taken off.

Then in with other goodies in manual is an order form for 1/3 off on a custom cut starlight case direct from Armalite...

WTF? Will probably send the whole POS back and just get a Barrett.

I was over at AR15.com and an Armalite spokesperson says they are starting to permanently attach all of their flash hiders, muzzle brakes, etc., on all of their guns AR-10, AR-15, AR-30 & AR-50.
